Default Saving a Humpback Whale

A good friend of mine shared this video and story with me about these people who track the movement of whales in the Sea of Cortez coming upon a humpback whale who at first appeared to be dead. They then witnessed it struggle to get it blow hole above water to breathe. They discovered it was hopelessly entrapped in a nylon fishing gill net.

They then spent the next hour in their small boat and in the water with a knife freeing the whale from the net and trying not to get hurt in the process.

After the whale is finally freed from it's net prison it goes on a joyful display of water breaching and tail display over and over in apparent ecstasy over it's freedom and maybe even in gratitude.

I'm kind of a sappy guy, but this had me very moist eyed. Wow!!

Thank you that was wonderful! It made my day up here in Alaska where we have a special bond with whales.
