Default Need a good Interior Decorator

We are furnishing a 3BR 2B Ranch in Duval for rental purposes and need recommendations on a good, reasonable, interior decorator. Thanks in advance.

I've never used an interior decorator, but I do know of one because she has a weekly section in the Daily Sun. The colors she uses often are brown and light blue, which are the colors I like using. If you pick up a Sunday newspaper, she'll be featured in the Lifestyle section. Her name is Ruth Dyer, here's her website.

Here's a bedroom that she did on her website.

The Villages Florida

This my living room which I decorated, browns and light blue seem to work good together in Florida.

If you are buying new furniture, some furniture stores will sell you a package for a rental house and they will have someone who will select everything. Or, you may want to ask the developer or The Villages rental company who they are using for rentals and furnished houses. As far as paying for an interior decorator, anything more than zero would be unreasonable to me.

If renting, why hire a decorator. How long are you renting for.

No, no, no. The way I understood it is that the OP is furnishing a house to put on the rental market. The suggestion to call a furniture store and look at their rental package is a good one. But I don't know which store to call. In days gone by I would have suggested Southern Lifestyles, but I don't know if their successor, City Furniture, does it. And City Furniture doesn't get high marks for quality or customer service.

I love Ruth Dyer's ideas, also. You could call her and ask the hourly rate for a consultation. She might give you enough ideas that you could then proceed on your own.

You might also ask landlords on TOTV for ideas based on their experience.

When we were thinking of buying many years ago, we rented a patio villa for a month in the Santiago area. Arrived at the house and found instructions to make the bed and where to find the sheets. The sheets were mismatched and almost in tatters. Not a good first impression!
