First, I will admit that we truly love our Evolution D5 Ranger cart. There are numerous YouTube videos on the pros and cons of the Evolution line-up. I will not rehash those here. Recently, my wife and I were caught out in a downpour. It was predicted, but we thought we could complete our trip before the heavens opened. Not to be. We discovered very quickly that the Evolution does NOT have a seal between the lower windshield panel and the cart body.
I searched on-line for some sort of weatherstripping to fill this gap. I think I’ve found something suitable; I haven’t installed it yet. (My wife didn’t like my idea of stuffing half of a pool noodle into the gap.) Has anyone else addressed my problem on their Evolution cart? What solution did you use? Other model carts (Yamaha and Star) don’t have this problem; there is a weatherstrip at the bottom of the windshield of these carts. Other carts MIGHT have the strip too, but I didn’t check other brands. Thanks for reading. |

Most Star carts do have a significant "gap" (it depends on which windshield was used). The companies that make the sunbrella or other covers, make a piece to cover the gap.

I have the Evolution Classic 4 and I have not seen any issues with what you have described. The closest I can come is when its very cold I have a gap on top that allows cold air to come into the cab. Pool noodle works great in that space...

It's extremely difficult to just try to slide it on dry. The easiest way to install is to remove your windshield (it's just a couple of bolts), cut to length, coat the channel of the door strip with dish soap, and then it slides on pretty easy. Use a hose to rinse the soap out before reattaching the windshield, then reattach the windshield. You can slide the channel a bit before it drys and it will conform to the shape of your cart front cowling. Looks factory when done. I told my dealer about this - I think they should install this on every cart they sell. It's a really cheap fix that looks great and works very well. The dealer that you purchase the cart from should be installing the weather strip to fill that gap on the bottom of the windshield. I know that every cart that is and has been purchased from The Villages Golf Cart stores has for years devised for a nice weather strip for all manufactures carts.

When I was buying a new cart, I drove several manufacturers carts. Several rides were short, very short. No gap around any part of the windshield for me. That’s a no brainer. |

I ran into the same issue with my Evolution D5 Ranger and finally found the perfect fix at ACE Golf Cart Covers online. They offer wind seal kits for most major brands, including Evolution. Super easy to install and seriously effective. Available in vinyl or Sunbrella fabric, depending on your style and needs. Here’s the link to the kit I used! WindSeal Kit. Dealers for Evolution are fairly new here in The Villages, and as time goes on this will become a standard option installed for them as well. |

My bf did this in a couple of minutes. $9 on Amazon. Just cut to length and put in place. We've been out in the rain a few times, and it works perfectly. Good luck!
