Default Disney FLA Annual Pass - when is it activated?

I am thinking of buying the weekday-only FL resident annual pass for Disney Parks....

If I bought it today, does the one year countdown start today or the first day I use it? This could make a big difference if I don't go for a month or so...

Neither the FAQs on their site nor an independent google search yielded a clear answer.

Anybody know???

If I remember correctly, ours started the day we purchased.

It does start on the day purchased and runs for 12 consecutive months with a renewal option one year from the day of purchase.

Definitely first use unless it changed since last spring. Bought at aaa in villages. First time use with a card aaa gave us. Then they mailed us bracelets for future visits.

I know if you buy the pass from Disney, it starts the day of purchase. I haven't purchased through AAA, so I am unsure. If AAA gives you a voucher to exchange at Disney for a pass, it may activate the day you turn in the voucher. Would recommend asking first before buying.

It is the purchase date. And as an aside, if you renew it the following year before the end of your year, you typically get a discount on renewal. Don't forget to use your 10% restaurant and merchandise discounts, and a price break on hotel stay if you decide to spend the night there. The free parking is another great benefit if you go often enough.
