Default Robin Williams had Parkinson's

Robin Williams' family announced that he had early stage Parkinson's. This causes depression in many, especially those prone to depression already. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I'm sure they didn't want to release something this private but felt his fans deserved some sort of explanation.

And now the tears flow again. Few celebrity deaths have affected me this much. I so miss the joy he brought to living.

His death has impacted all his fans, Redwitch . Over the years, many celebrities have passed away, but the outpouring of grief expressed by so many because of his death, has been beyond anything I've seen before.

Robin made us laugh, he made us feel good and he is sorely missed.

My father suffered from Parkinson's Disease for several years. It was a difficult experience for him and the whole family.

Robin Williams' death has hit me harder than that of any celebrity's death I can remember.too, redwitch. What a gifted man who gave so much to the world!

He seemed to touch all our hearts. He was such a zany brilliant man, yet I always felt there was a hint of sadness there too. It's a great shame that he was overwhelmed with so many challenges, and Parkinson's as well. He will be missed. Rest in peace dear Robin.

I agree, I didn't always love his humor, what I considered to be kind of stupid comedy, I don't mean that in any personal way, just the slapstick kind of over-acted type comedy. But, to me, he seemed like he was trying too hard sometimes, like he felt he always had to be up and silly rather than just be himself. I did love a few of his movies though. He did have an undercurrent of sadness to him. Hopefully he is at peace now.

It says something that so many people shared their sorrow about Robin Williams passing. He enhanced our lives through his humor. So many of the post have stated that it is the first time that they were so shocked and grieved so deeply over a celebrity' s death. What a wonderful tribute to the man. It is a pity he could not hear and read how so very many people cared and appreciated him. Could it had made a difference in his emotional state? Probably with good psychiatric care but not with the Parkinson's hanging over him. Somewhere I read, there is that fine line between genius and insanity pretty much sums up Robin Williams .

Suicide among our generation of Boomers is a national epidemic and one of the top 3 causes of death. Severe depression is an overwhelming illness. It is ofter misunderstood by the people who are left behind who ask "why". As a person who has experienced this family tragedy it is important to educate ourselves about the symptoms of this terrible affliction. I hope that Robin is at peace and that his family will find strength in the public outpouring for him.

Very few people have had the good fortune of fame, money and the luxuries in life. They are blessed in one way and sometimes cursed in another.

Who's to say what brought Robin to drugs, and the unfortunate development of Parkinson's. He must have been a tortured soul behind all the genius, to make people laugh.

I know this has made me somewhat sad. He seems to be a genuine caring person. Depression is a terrible disease, that someday may be understood, by more people. My hope is that his death will open more avenues to understanding the symptons of depression, and people recognize when someone they love, is in a dangerous state of mind, to help prevent senseless tradedy's.

May he rest in peace.

I could not have said it better! We have been so sad about his death and last night we watched Mrs. Doubtfire, what a great movie! It made us laugh, but also made us sad that we have lost such a talented, generous person.

I hope you are at pece Robin, you will be missed!
