Default Nik Wallenda walks across Grand Canyon

I knew we forgot to do something..........and now I know what it was....

We forgot to watch Nik Wallenda walk across the Grand Canyon....
(Last year we were visiting our daughter and watched him walk across Niagra Falls....which was nerve wracking to say the least....)

TODAY news has the story online with photos.........

He did it! Daredevil Nik Wallenda wire walks across the Grand Canyon

So glad he made it. But quite irritated he risked not only his own life to do it, but the futures of his children and wife.

I guess it's his whole life. Saw a bit on the morning news earlier.
He looked nervous when the winds picked up........
I don't know how his wife tolerates it........

I got nervous just sitting on my couch......

According to this story, his wife is an eighth generation wire walker herself and Nik proposed to her on a wire.....so I guesss she's used to this. (Older story from when he walked across Niagara Falls)

It is he who is and it is what he does. Was harrowing to watch the entire walk and I prayed along with him. Not the life for me or mine!!!!

He has walked the wire since 2. His family is famous for tightrope walking. It is in his genes. Doesn't seem like his children want to follow in his footsteps unfortunately. Watched all of it live last night on Discovery.

Darn, meant to watch it live too. Visiting neighbors and completely forgot. I watched many of Evil Knievil's stunts.

"Life is on the wire. The rest is just waiting. - Karl Wallenda"

This is not just a saying .... it is the Wallenda family way of life ... the way they live and what makes them happiest!!!

I know Nik's mother Deiliah and know she was always happiest when working on the wire.

I give Nik and the family a lot of credit - they are performers in the highest regard.

It was exciting and it was beautiful. Never seen the canyons look as awesome!

Also, saved it on TIVO. Caught up to live after dinned thanks to commercials. Wonderful thing about TIVO TIVO show and half way in you can start watching and end at the end. Could also do it on VHS, but hard disk, better picture and does not wear out the heads when paused. American technology!
