Is there an oldies (60's & 70's) FM station the serves The Villages area? Too bad WVLG isn't FM.

Good point. WVLG is a great station but the thinness of the AM sound is not something many of us want to go back to. I realize the station and sound is to recall our younger years and how we do feel a lot younger being here. But one huge problem is that in our poured concrete homes with rebar, the reception is terrible...weak and buzzing....and annoying.

WLVG needs to have internet streaming (like iHeart Radio dot com) so it can be heard everywhere, especially by snowbirds gone for the season, and wannabe's around the hemisphere.

To me, from a home sales standpoint, there are few radio ads anywhere that have the appeal of the "man/woman on the street" one minute interviews done by WVLG daily. It's very appealing and convincing to hear people joyfully say where they came from, what they're doing now for activity outside the home, if they'd ever done that before coming, why they like it so much, and how they couldn't do that while working and "living" (existing and being a hamster on a wheel) in an icy, cloudy climate.

I've contacted WVLG several times about internet streaming. In each case, I have received a very nice reply that there are no plans to stream; now or in the future.

Maybe if more people contacted them, it might make them reconsider.

Can you not receive either of these two oldie stations out of Ocala? I can get both of these on the internet.

Sirius XM Satellite and online radio has, among other stations, stations dedicated to '40s, '50's. 60's. Commercial free.

For classic rock, I listen to WIND 95.5 out of Ocala/Gainesville. I have XM radio in my new car, so I paid the $120 subscription and listen to satellite radio now. However, if I'm in the garage or the yard working, WIND isn't bad, the one complaint is that they play only the standard classic rock hits, nothing too heavy or pop except Elton John or no deep album cuts. WIND has been leaning away from the 60's and now feature 70's and 80's more. They are actually on three frequencies, 92.5, 95.5 and 107.9, so as you move around between Ocala and Gainesville and north Florida you can pick them up. They are much easier to receive than the Tampa stations.
