Default Prefect timing

Gas prices are tanked, prefect timing by oil producer union strike. They are going to walk off job. No production or little production will sky rocket gas prices. Oil and gas industry not making much, so prefect time to stale mate in negotiations and get prices back to 4 dollars gallon or more.

Top, I agree with you 100%. Prices for gas will rise, while the price of crude will remain flat. The unions and oil companies are sticking it to the consumers again!

"Oil Boomtown: 'We could see 20,000 layoffs by June'

...The drop in crude prices, while beneficial for drivers, has already cost thousands of oil jobs. Schlumberger (SLB) was among several companies to take a hit, laying off 9,000 people last week……

I really don't care what prices are probably start complaining when it get over 5 bucks gallon cause I know it BS. My car gets 28/37 MPG. But who benefits more 20k workers or 193,552,000 estimated drivers in the US? Most aren't making the 25 Plus hour as oil workers.

Agree whole heartedly with you Topspinmo - there is nothing more beneficial to the "middle class" everyone talks so much about then lower gas prices. This is actual money in their pocket which thye will obviously spend to boost the economy. It's a win-win except for the oil companies.

Wait, the gov wants their share, so let's raise the taxes on gas while the prices are still low. Nobody will even notice.

Per the US Energy Information Administration website (last updated 1/20/15), on a gallon of gasoline we pay the following taxes:

$ .184 Federal
$ .28225 Florida-all counties
$ .31425 Additional Florida fees/taxes in Lake & Sumter counties
$ .35425 Additional Florida fees/taxes in Marion county

Total: $.7905 to $.8305 in our area
