Pro's and con's
We currently use T-Mobile hot spot for our internet (80Gb). Wondering if we go to a router based internet provider, who is the best and the worst, price wise and service wise. Don't want to bundle it with TV or land line phone. TIA, Bob

Quantom Fiber is available in Sanibel. It is $65 per month and up to 940 Mbps. We have had Quantom Fiber for nearly a year now in Sanibel and it has been reliable. Customer support after install is no better or worse than other providers in our experience. You don't have to bundle it with any other service.

We dropped Comca$t for Century Link some years back , subsquently upgraded to 200 speed when we got a Smart TV, cost $55 a month or so, no problems at all and pleased with the service.

I can get "up to" 3 (THREE) mbps for $50. I'm currently getting "up to" 100 mbps for $50 at Comcast. Speedtest.net returned 87.68 down and 11.44 upload speeds a minute ago. I bought my own router and modem so no lease on those. The 200 speed on CenturyLink is available in some locations and it's $65/month, plus the $15 modem/router lease (unless you buy your own). |

Why do you want to drop T-Mobile? We're on the waiting list.

But no Quantum isn't available in my area at all. And CenturyLink underserves as it did when I moved in and got Comcast. |

Don't want to drop T-Mobile, I'm very happy with them, just looking to see if there is a better deal out there.

We have used CenturyLink high speed for about nine years; very good service. They froze our rate at $45 per month for life several years ago, so they do have good loyalty policies.

With Xfinity you can get cell phone service (Verizon network) for only $12 a month for two phones. That gives you 1 GB of data and if you go over it is only another $12. We have only gone over a few times in almost 4 year. Service is great. I believe that you can get Xfinity internet only for around $40 a month with paperless and direct withdrawal and it’s 100 bps. The deals on internet change all the time of course.

It's all so damn confusing. Now I find T-Mobile is dropping their 3G service. I have to buy a new phone before July 1.

All the carriers are shutting down their 3g networks to make room for 5g. Each has their own sunset date.

My mistake, phone is ready for 4G (LTE). I did go with TMobile home internet, works great for $30 a month.
