Saturday is Pi Day. While every March 14th is Pi Day this is a once in a century extra super special Pi Day as it is year 15. So for the whole day it is March (3), the 14th of the year 2015 or 3/14/15 That is the first 5 digits in pi. Even more wonderful we can go beyond the year representation and have two events to the second. Using 9:26:53 as the time we have an AM and a PM which match the first 10 digits of pi.

I will be celebrating with a piece of cherry pie.

Pie (PI) are not squared. Pie are round.

Pi Day brings back memories of one of my H.S. math teachers. What a "strange" guy. Later in life we found he had trouble with simple math---he obviously couldn't keep his check book balanced! I wonder how many of us ever used that "stuff"?

Have a great Pi Day. Fore!

And next year we can round pi to four decimal digits (3.1416) and have 3/14/16 to celebrate.

I will have pecan pie this year and Boston cream pie next year.

Wall Street Journal did a nice article on Pi and tied in a woman who had planned her wedding around this day.
