Default Question for Canadians

How do you manage cell phone service when here? Our neighbors from New Brunswick use trackphones when here. They both have iPhones back in Canada. Is there a way for them to use their phones here in the US?
Thanks for any advice.

They just need to get a Sim card from one of the third party carriers.

Default Sim card

Yes Sim card is the way to go. I use Metro PCS cost me around $60 a month for unlimited everything, you do have to pay an activation fee when you switch the Sim cards.
