We tried the 4G and the results were not impressive, then we lost the unlimited when we switched back to 3G,

It took a month to get the unlimited plan reinstated, but they finally did it.

I use a MIFI works very good.

The wording is confusing about whether or not existing customers who don't change anything will be grandfathered.

So to help clarify (and hopefully not add to any further confusion!), here's a different article where things are spelled out in a bit more detail:

Verizon to drop unlimited data plans for upgrades from 3G to 4G LTE - Tech Talk - CBS News

Of specific note in this article: "When asked if customer with unlimited 3G data plans would be grandfathered in, or be able to keep their plans, a spokeswoman for Verizon told CBS News customers who don't upgrade their plans won't be affected and sent an official statement via email.

"Historically, we have never forced customers to change their plan if they are not upgrading their phone or if they are within the terms of their contracts," Verizon said in an emailed statement.
"

How is Sprint coverage here and elsewhere?
Any gaps or areas not well-serve...here or up and down the East Coast?
