I never understood why the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc took Jerry off the telethon. I can't imagine they ever raised as much money without Jerry. I always looked forward to that show every year, I think the first time I saw it was about 1966 and I had just mentioned today that it would be coming up soon if he was still on. I use to guess who was going to replace Jerry when he retired, and we never got to see that happen.

Jerry sometimes could be a little sarcastic or tipsy or whatever and you never knew what he was going to say on live TV. Ed McMahon was also a great contributor to that show. I really liked the Martin and Lewis movies. I remember as a teenager going to the youth center in the summer and they would show their movies, they were as funny as Abbot & Costello who were another favorite of mine. RIP Jerry.

I was in Vagas in the late 1970s & seen the Muscular Dystrophy show with Jerry live. Can't remember what casino it was in at that time, but there was loooong line's just to get in. They changed crowd's in the studio every 15 to 20 min. As I recall it was $10 to get in. Well worth the time & $10 to see Jerry Lewis Live. R.I.P. Jerry........

The kids in our neighborhood had several carnival's to raise money for this worthy cause. What a nice memory. I can remember us trying to build a miniature golf course but running out of know how and funds after three holes.

We were in amazement of Mr. Lewis that he could stay awake for 24 hours and remember the days when they really struggled to raise $1,000,000.

R.I.P. you were a great example for us something this world could use now.
