Default Recommendation for a "feel good" movie>

.
.
During the "Covid year" we have watched more movies at home than ever. We have DirecTV and check ahead the next week or so on channels that may have movies playing of interest and DVR them. We also have Netflix. So typically on many nights we watch one. Some are "stinkers" and we bail out early, others are "keepers" and hit the right tone for us.

Last night we watched "Wonder". It was so heartwarming. From 2017, with Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, and some wonderful young actors. We DVRd it from channel 'Freeform' on D-TV, but no doubt avail from other platforms. The movie> 'Based on the New York Times bestseller, this movie tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters the fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time.'

It's so well done, and pulls you through all emotions. This should be shown at all elementary schools.

Highly recommend it.

Couldn't the budget for the film extend to a decent pair of shoes to go with the suit Owen Wilson wears in the picture.

Thanks for the tip. Going to give Wonder a look today.

The movie that stuck with me during this ordeal was A Dog's Purpose.

absolutely a 'third' for A dog's Purpose.

I'm a guy. Not necessarily a Macho-guy I guess. Because it really doesn't take much to get me to tear up. Family and some movies that hit the heart do it every time. Must say, there were times (even in a movie theater..) that made me sound like a sniveling and weeping guy, trying to hide it...

One of my all time favorite movies is 'Secretariat" It's a movie about the greatest race horse of all time. Really well done.

Default The Magic of Belle Isle (2012)

I recently stumbled on an older movie and decided to take a chance. The movie is "The Magic of Belle Isle (2012)" The story is about; Monty Wildhorn, an alcoholic novelist of Westerns, who has lost his drive. His nephew pushes him to summer in quiet Belle Isle. He begrudgingly befriends a newly single mom and her 3 girls who help him find the inspiration to write again. It stars Stars: Morgan Freeman, Virginia Madsen, and Madeline Carroll. A few minutes into the movie, I was hooked.... I highly recommend it. It was available on my Amazon Prime streaming, but I see many other streaming sources. The Magic of Belle Isle (2012)

The absolute isolation of that film is what gets to me. The heroism of the robots. I agree, great movie.

For something more recent, and feel good, the 1985 Movie, Vision Quest. It really brings you back to the 80s watching it. Love that movie.

I loved it when the little robots started cheating at cards!
