Johnson was responsible for the war and it didn't have to do with politics over there but $$ and power. Hanoi Jane "was" hated by many and it continues on today. She's very liberal in her ideologies. Why anyone would say she did a lot for the war effort must have been smoking weed. The man who was tortured because of her (don't know if he's still living) probably would disagree vehemently with JimJohnson on his comments.

We’re you there? I don’t recall any irreparable harm. I remember a lot of people dying for reasons that became increasingly unsupportable when subjected to the scrutiny of a free press and public outrage. The protests became a movement and leaders emerged and then the unpopular war ended.

maybe in the bubble of the villages vest gang , but in the real world there are a larger group of vets that have come to realize without the demonstrations the war would have gone on longer

Well, I've just discovered that she is the spokesperson for GREENPEACE, an organization to which I've contributed over the years.

I've just mailed a letter requesting they remove my name from their mailing list, as I will no longer be a contributor to an organization that has a traitor as their spokesperson.

Just putting in my two cents and FYI for those interested.

You support GREENPEACE because you believe in their cause, and you’re withdrawing support because what some 80 year old lady did 50 years ago?? Let it go.

the geneva accords of 1954 ended the french involvement in the war. It partioned vietnam at the 17 th parralel creating north and south vietnam it called for foreign nationals to leave by 1956 and to have a reunification election between the two partioned vietnams.

Jane Fonda was/IS a scumbag to put it politely, but honestly. Just because she thought she was right and some misled and unfortunate ideologues think she was right, does not preclude her from being a traitor and lower than dirt. If not a celebrity, she would have been punished, severely punished. She was the exact opposite of being patriotic and a lot of Americans were hurt because of her.
