Default motorcycle helmet

Could anyone suggest where I could buy a motorcycle helmet that wouldnt cost an arm and a leg?

Need one very soon and I know at the Harley shops I will pay top dollar. Thanx!

Your post here just might do it. Maybe an ad in the Sun also. I wish I could remember the address on San Pedro Dr where I saw what looked like two brand new ones at a garage sale a couple of weeks ago.
Also, I think the motorcyclists in TV ride together from Mulberry on Saturday mornings. You might ask them.

nONIE: Be very careful if you are buying a used helmet. One problem is I believe a helmet should be replaced every five years, give or take a couple of months, due to normal wear and tear. So if you buy used you don't know how old it is, but the biggest reason to not buy used is you don't know if it was dropped, banged around, or what ever. If a helmet takes a pretty good hit it should be replaced. I have a Harley helmet, plus an HJC. HJC made the Harley helmets for a while, I'm not sure if they still do. I saved allot by buying an HJC. Also if you search the web some dealers will come down in price or even give you free shipping. They may cost alot but if you need it you want a good one. Hopefully nobody ever needs it. Good luck.

Default Motorcycle helmets

I f you buy used there is no guarantee that the helmet is newer than 5 yrs.,wasn't dropped, or wasn't stored within confines containing solvents and other distructive chemicals.
Go to local dealers try on different models , wear for 15 min at least to see if they remain comfortable. The helmet should fit snugly, without causing any discomfort.
When you find one you like research it on line for better prices, than go back and see if the dealer will bargain.

Default Helmet

I am always trying new helmets so I have a few extras if you wouldn't mind a used one. I have two HJC three quarter helmets that are flat black and hardley used. They both have removable face shields and sun visor. I have a small and a XL. One was for my wife and the other for me. I would be glad to give you one free if you want. We don't live in TV yet, but may be over for a visit in the next week. I also have a couple of extra half helmets, but they probably have a little more use. if your interested, let me know.

nONIE;

I don't ride cycles myself but about a year ago I was at a place in Lady Lake concerning car paint. They also apparently do quite a business in motorcycles and window film. It's called Underglass and the owners are Chris & Kris Gehman. The address is 330 Highway 27 and the phone number is 753-5267. I recall that the owner who helped me out was extremely pleasant and I'd bet he could give you some guidance about helmets and where to buy in this area. A phone call never hurts.

Be very careful and remember that people in cars can't see motorcycles.

Nonie! What are you planning?! Have you changed from a "slow-and-easy" bicycle rider to a biker babe?

Was in Walmart yesterday, and noticed they're starting to carry accessories for motorcycles. They do have some "cheap" helmets. Didn't check, but you want one that is at least D.O.T. certified.

LB 2848,how generous of you to want to just give me one. I certainly would want to give you something for it. Are you still in The Villages? Please PM me and let me know where I can find you.

I prefer the one with the face shield but any half helmet would do. Beggars cant be choosers! LOL!

Thanks again for your generous offer, sure hope your still here. I just saw this post tonite.

Thanks to everyone for the helpful advice. Fortunately I am the passenger and not the driver. My driver is very safety conscious.
