Default Reupholster Office Chair?

chair-jpg

As nasty as this chair looks...and it sheds its faux leather...it is very comfortable for me. And I'm very tall, so replacing it is not as easy as it might sound.

Anybody know if it could be reupholstered somehow? Possibly with just a simple fabric of some sort?

(Any thoughts, villagetinker? )

Just so happen I was in a waiting room this afternoon and only thing to read was one of those flyers with various business ads. I remembered Lucky's Upholstery just because I didn't know of any in the area. It's in Belleview.

Thanks, John_W. I will likely give them a call.

I’ve also seen covers available for office chairs. I know they would not be a perfect solution...not likely to deal with armrests and such...but might be worth considering for a cheap ‘solution’. Anybody have any experience with these covers?

I have exactly the same chair, looks exactly like that, shedding the faux leather and was also thinking about reupholstering it.

Ha, I have the same chair and it’s doing the same thing.

Bonded leather doesn’t do well with bare skin touching it for long periods unfortunately.

Had one of those, started shedding after 6 years.....took it to the curb and bought a more comfortable chair

I know this isn't helpful, but you sure got your money's worth out of that chair

Bought 2 "bonded" leather recliners from Kane's in Ocala.
Started peeling, cracking, in less than a year. They would do nothing.
Joined a class-action lawsuit against Kane's and fabric mfg.
Just got a check for $1000 full refund + $175 interest.
Took 7 years to go through the courts.
Will never buy "bonded" leather again.

I think the three of you with identical sick chairs should combine your request and try for a bulk discount. Looking at their facebook page there is no mention of doing office chairs but can't hurt to ask
