IRS warns taxpayers about an emergence of scams recently. Scammers reach out via email, phone call, social media, etc claiming to be the IRS. I've heard about these emails, but haven't encountered it myself. If you notice anything fishy, looks like you can forward information to the IRS at phishing@irs.gov

I get at least one a day asking me to check the status of my check. I think these are scams.

SCAMS....... Don't fall for it. They will get your SS#, DOB and full name. Then your ID is forever hacked.
