We are living through the effects of this policy.

To continually scold people to wake up, get engaged, take action is futile. Our ELECTED politicians are guiding this country down a predictable path and again one that the majority of citizens VOTED for.

You read my feelings correctly. We did vote for this...and if I am that much in the minority, I just shut up. I suppose hearing a poster wanting to once again dwell on Bush, Iraq, etc. should tell me that this threat and all the others left unattended are secondary to whatever.

To support your point, this ISIS threat is not new......just was uncomfortable at election time if you recall....So relegated to JV.

WOW

I am floored by this !!!

You and the other poster who feels this point in history is important, in my opinion now, are more about politics than the country.
You do know that ISIS did not even exist until 3 years ago, and began when the USA just flat out turned their back on the killing in Syria...born in Syria three years ago. And you bring up Bush and Iraq.

They then moved into Iraq where a vacuum existed partly because we rushed out of there for strictly political reasons which despite all the political talk is the fact. And you bring up Bush and Iraq.

They have prospered while we mocked them in the last three years...called them JVs.......and you bring up Bush and Iraq.

We have a wide open border with very few restraints...border warnings about ISIS crossings in Texas...and you bring up Bush and Iraq.

WOW is all I can say.

President Barack Obama is heading to the NATO summit this evening where he will try to build a coalition of the willing, bringing Sunni and Shia to the table. This is what Pres GHW Bush did successfully in the early 1990's. If we have to go back to Iraq, this time we will be greeted as liberators.

Hopefully, if congress votes to authorize military action in Iraq, they will include a tax increase to pay for it, unlike the recent Iraq war. All patriots should support that. We must fight them there, or we will be fighting them here. The next warning could come in the form of a mushroom cloud. When the Iraqi army steps up, we can step down and declare mission accomplished.

It would also be good if congress would reinstate the draft, so that other young men and women get to experience our military. It just doesn't seem fair that the same soldiers are being asked to return five, six, seven times.
Thank you to all the posters on this forum for your service to this great country.

Politics has played a very important part in Iraq. Weren't those "weapons" political??? How could you not associate one thing with the other?

You really don't think those invisible weapons of mass destruction started a trend of more bad things to come? It's all been bad ever since and not limited to just Iraq, obviously. Iraq was a contagion and the disease is still spreading.

You don't see the connection??? All I can say is WOW!

He appears to be at the base of every evil in the world.

When you are discussing a violent movement, a war in Syria, missing planes now in Libya, beheaded journalists, bombing in the mideast all over, and it can be covered by a blanket called Bush, well no more to say. That attitude is why we are where we are...we need to do NOTHING but just let everyone know about this evil evil man.

I will admit it does make it easier......all the goodness we have now is being tarnished by this man..when will it end.

Bush saw the evil first. He acted. Lots of wrongs, but the evil rises. He saw it coming.

I agree. So much as been so conveniently forgotten.

I felt that way too. Said Iraq war embarrassed me as an American.

POTUS was quoted today as being very angry with Israel. When was the last time he was quoted as having been angry with any of our other allies, much less those of them in the middle-East.

in some ways this forum is very much like Washington politics.

Some continue to want to blame some one other than the current administration. And even in the face of current macabre events, the here and now, those some prefer to continue the debate of yesterday.

This type behavior is exactly what is an impediment in government. The all important priority of party first or self agenda some how seems to command center stage and DO NOTHING to bring we the people together to fight a common enemy.

How hard is is for the party horn blowers to lay down their sling shots and fight the common battle. Even the terrorists have it more right than some Americans. They don't care if you are from a red state or a blue state or democrat or republican.....they want YOU dead because YOU are an American.
