Default Front Entry question

I still don't know what to do about the concrete in the front entry.
Has anyone paved just the entry?

If so, how would you do it to make it the same height as the pathway?

Has anyone had it painted to look like pavers?

Appreciate any suggestions.

We had our porch and walkway to the driveway paved with brick. Looks great. At the end where it meets the driveway, they cut the bricks at an angle so they met the cement.

I had the front entrance, the driveway and the lanai painted to match and coordinated with the different colors of the house and I love it. It was done by Hank of Cost less driveways

When our paver driveway was done last year, they brought the pavers right up to the entry door. Same level all the way, we love the look and easy maintenance.

Curious, how did they secure the pavers to the concrete driveway ?

That is why we did it, too.

I might be mistaken, but I think the concrete driveway is taken out and a base layer of sand put in. The pavers are just in the sand.

We painted ours along with the walk and drive. Looks fantastic and easy to keep clean. Pavers are not so easy to clean and on the drive you can have problems with cracking and shifting. Not to mention the $$$

Nope - pavers are laid right on the existing concrete drive. They do cut the drive across near the curb, lay a new small area of cement for that course so the last course or 2 of pavers will be even with the curb when installed. Other than that, the perimeter course is secured to the concrete with mastic or cement. The field area is simply laid down. Lots of cuts to make the pattern and finish per the existing drive. Then sand is spread across the entire drive/walk, broomed in to lock all the pavers, and powerwashed, dried, then a coat of clear sealer. If done properly by a reputable contractor - paver drives/walks are very attractive with minimal maintenance. Lots of options for patterns etc.

Some paver bricks/blocks are 2" thick, and some are about 1" thick. I had a 1" thick drive installed in my previous home, and over 8 years only 2 bricks needed to be refitted due to a crack. They always leave you with spares to store.
