Absolutely. Thanks for the post and the reminder of the heros that protect us everyday. The first NYPD officers to take action were Wayne Rhatigan and his partner Pam Duffy. Don't forget Lance Orton and Duane Jackson, the two Vietnam veterans, who work as vendors who alerted the NYPD.

What a terrific post! Thanks for the reminder to be grateful for the NYPD's stellar performance. In times like this, again, we are all New Yorkers.

As others have said, I'm also humbled by and thankful to all the men and women who risk their lives to keep us safe.

Default He is smiling because he is a US citizen, entitled to a trial by

a jury of his peers (not sure who that would be!!). And he knows he will live well paid for by the taxpayers for quite some time. With a tricky, devious lawyer....who knows!!!!!!

Back to the threads intent....remember it is those who are sworn to protect and did just that.....it is unfortunate they like their firemen bretheren are at the wrong end of the pay scale.
Thank you and GOD bless the NYPD and all like them.

Thumbs up

As a recently transplanted New Yorker I know first hand that the NYPD is truely The Finest.
Commissioner Kelly and his international task forces have not only kept New York safe they have a hand in keeping all of us safe.

And yes BTK, they do deserve a substantial raise!

Gee, the NYPD handled that terrorist case all by themselves??? Did they have any little “helpers”??? Is the case being handled in NY City Courts?? And Kelly runs those “international task forces”?? Must be true if it was in the NY Post!!! Guess that he must be responsible for all the major organized crime and white collar crime investigations in NY, too.

The NYPD and all of the other agencies involved did a great job, but Kelly has always been a shameless publicity seeker, often claiming the major credit when the PD had only a supporting role.
