If you controlled the legislature for one day and could make any changes that you wanted, what would you do to take care of the problem? Maybe we can get some ideas that would help.

Did you report the post? If not, your complaint is baseless. If you did, and they did nothing, I agree with you...

Something is not right here
Yes Fl drivers seem to drive fast. However California has many uninsured motorists, high speed drivers, damage to cars from fires and mudslides. I would also guess CA drivers drive many more miles.

It does appear that Florida is quite litigious. There have been attempts to curb that, but there is only so much that can be done. Hurricanes/floods cause cars to be damaged/totaled. I would be in favor of a surcharge on those that live within XX miles of the shore areas, so they share more of that burden vs those of us to chose to live inland. Uninsured motorist is a problem. The ability to avoid being insured and still drive is something that could be addressed better. Seems every time someone goes through a toll booth/scanner one of the things that could be checked at that point is if their insurance is current, car is registered, etc. Such devices could be set up randomly at other than tollway locations to catch those that don't use tollways. I would be in favor of inspections for safety issues - brakes and tires being the primary items. All non-political things. |

If I were the Governor of the state with the highest increase in auto insurance, I would be spending a large part of my time in my state working on that problem versus traveling around to other states like some modern Don Quixote tilting at the windmills of national polls.........and losing big time.
