Default Too bad Tiger Woods will be at Augusta to ruin it for all

In another article both Tiger and the Augusta directors have put in place a ruling that ANYBODY who even makes a remark around him at Augusta will be promptly removed from the premises.

Golf's finest event being turned into a 3 ring circus by an irresponsible citizen. I for one will not be watching the media go ga-ga over his and Augusta's selfish circus.
The true golf fans can only hope he does poorly hence the camera will not be just on him.

I actually turned off last Sunday's golf tournament because all they did was talk about Tiger and show shots of him like he was playing there.

I can just imagine what the masters is going to be like.

I hope the LPGA is on. They did not mention Tiger once all weekend.

Default Don't know why he has to be protected

He should just man up and face the music. I will try and watch anything else on TV unless I hear he is falling apart.

True - but they might just end up with a Subway sandwich for their services.

Vijay Singh was playing at the 2003 US Open. He had earlier in the season kind of ripped Annika Sorenstam for playing on the men's tour. When he missed a putt a guy said at Vijay that Anika would have made it. He was escorted off the course. So long to $70.00dollars, but the guy didn't seem to care. I guess the moral of the story is to wait until the 18th before you make a remark.

The 82 extra security people are not Wood's private guards but part of the extra security put on by the golf tournament people. That seems like a very poorly written article meant to provoke people.

A bit judgemental for Christians (or any other religion) I would judge! "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone."

I imagine the other multi-millionaires on the tour will find it in their hearts to forgive him, given the huge increase in paydays they have enjoyed as the result of Eldrick's presence on the tour. The Masters has never tolerated any outbursts by the "patrons", and they are certainly not about to start now.

I would say the Masters is the very best place for his comeback because security is always so tight and the Augusta people don't tolerate any nonsense.

Default Arnold Palmer said it best when asked if Tiger Woods would affect the game of golf ne

He said the game of golf is bigger than ANY ONE person. Unfortunately the media and the rest of the profiteers would have one think other wise.

His presence there will take away from the real meaning of playing in the masters to the rest of the field....and that is a travesty. Now if TIger blows it then it may be to their advantage....we can only hope.

Default The Guy Has Apologized

in what I think is a very sincere way. Exactly what more do you want him to do? He's been very humble and apologetic at his news conference today. He's certainly, if not the best, one of the two best to play the game, and without him professional golf is rather boring. I for one am glad to see him back, and if you asked the other players, I think most of them are also glad. After all, with Tiger playing, their paydays are potentially a lot bigger.

Default Tiger's press conference, honest and pretty brutal

The four-times Masters winner wiped sweat and took a drink before speaking at a press conference today. He looked horrible and scared to me. The press, most of whom he called by their first names, offered many more "hard" questions about rehab and the numerous affairs and his adultery than I ever imagined.

He said encouragement from other players and the galleries "blew me away." "People here are really respectful and it blew me away."

He also said to all the players that he was glad that, "after today...players can be left alone...and going forward as well...alot has happened over the past five months."

Said he has "under appreciated the fans" and the kids who look up to him.
"Winning golf tournaments is irrelevant to the damage I did (to wife, family and children)," Woods said.

About the mainstream media's treatment, "the times have changed..." What I've done was wrong."

He briefly brought up use of sleeping aids and pain meds used for injuries and at the time of his Dad's death. I held my breath hoping he wouldn't justify his adultery. I don't think he did. He spoke about use of a dCanadian doctor who he brought in to spin blood and help with a knee injury. Feds may be investigating this. His affairs may just be the first of it for Woods.

On his 45 day stint in rehab, he said he has come out "a much better person for it..." and wouldn't say what the rehab was for, "that's personal." And that he'd continue treatment and getting closer to God through his religion (Buddihsm).

On a question about feeling "entitled" and rationalize what was going on with adultery. "The way I was thinking was not correct. I was rationalizing, in total denial at times...the way I was thinking caused so much harm to people I love."

He missed his son't first birthday because of his decision to go to rehab after the Christmas holidays. "Something I regret and probably will for the rest of my life."

"I've lied and deceived," Woods said.

Why you would leave so many loose ends, a reporter asked. "I acted just terrible and poorly. Made so many bad decision. Hurt so many people close to me. That's enough."

"I even lied to myself...strip all that away...full magnitude of it...it's pretty brutal...I take full responsibility for it. I don't take that lightly," he said.

"...It's not about the championships, it about how you live life."

Regarding his sponsors, Woods said he understood why sponsors dropped him. Going forward, he hopes to prove he's a worthy investment and help their companies grow.

Golf wise, Tiger's expectations, "Nothings changed...try to go out there and win this thing."

"The media is not allowed inside the ropes...alot more at ease than most weeks. This is one week you'd rather have a pairing with me considering the circumstances it would be this week," Tiger said.

Elin is not coming this week.
God bless and good luck Elin and family. B,K.

This is a point I have always made about him and was happy to hear his response. He also touched on working to be a player that controls his outbursts on the course. As a long time golfer myself, good luck with that one

I listened to it while working on my computer. IMO it was very impressive first step. Good for him.

Time will tell, now I hope the Master's can be more about golf....

He did seem sincere but it is hard for a Tiger to change it's stripes. I have a feeling the first critical shot he misses the foul language and the throwing clubs will resurface.
