Default Why are these new beds/frames so close to the floor?

I love the look of many of these new bed frames that are out. And also don't need a box spring.

But they are SO CLOSE to the floor I'm afraid I'd have trouble getting out of bed!

Has anyone bought a new bed frame lately that doesn't need a box spring but yet high enough where it's not a struggle to stand up out of bed?

Also would be nice to have frame high enough from the floor that my zoomba can get underneath it.

Several for our children in college apartments. But each one shortly requested a box spring to be added for height and comfort. We knew that going in, but they really wanted that bed style w/o a box spring. Then they realized why. The put-together type online is cheap and fantastic. We did 4 in the last 2 years. Amazon or Wayfair both carry same type.

All of our bed frames have a lot of clearance (>14") under them so we can store stuff under the bed. So I would not like a low bed for its lack of storage.

Yes exactly. But also thinking that it would be nice if the zoomba could get under there.

get a platform bed with lots of drawer storage, and no need for the zoomba to get underneath

We have normal frames in 1 bedroom with half box Springs. 2 beds built in frame with normal box. Our boys are 6’ so tall beds work plus great storage.
We did have a storage frame with drawers. Just 1” from drawer and floor. It was perfect. Until we moved the bunnies, dog hair, and 3 dead geckos were gross under those drawers

I have seen posts that can be installed to raise the bed, try an Amazon or similar search. These are typically 2 or 3 inches wide and various heights, just be careful if you intend to move the bed as these might not slide with the frame.

Why not just buy a box spring? They are less than $100 even for a king size. It may make the mattress last longer, and it may allow you to buy a less expensive bed frame. The box spring does not need to match the mattress. Also, I cannot imagine any bed frame that is so low that a zoomba won't fit under it.

Note that I have a platform bed with wood slats, but I had to buy a bunkie board to prevent the mattress from sagging.

We have a SleepNumber, which doesn't use a box spring. We had our choice of leg heights for the frame. I can put sweater boxes under it if I wanted to (I don't want to) with no problem at all. I don't have to "climb" into bed, so it's not very high. But it's also not so low that I'm stressing to push myself up when my feet land on the floor as I get out of it.

There are a variety of bed frames that don't rely on box springs, and come in different or even adjustable heights. Just make sure if your mattress requires an 8-slat slatted frame, you get an 8-slat slatted frame. Otherwise you might wake up one morning with your back on the floor.

We bought a Tempurpedic bed about three years ago. We had a choice of heights for the legs.

We have a split King adjustable bed and you can make the leg height shorter or higher as you wish. We don't have any box spring, and I wouldn't want it.

We keep the bed as low as possible, because I found in traveling that beds are so high nowadays I need a step stool to get in them. I seriously travel with a step stool because I cannot get up into the beds. But I'm short.

I have the one Purple Rain posted. Between it, the mattress and the foam mattress cover I can barely get in it.... I love it. Tons of storage underneath too.
