Just hear on the news that the increase will be 3.6%.

I just saw this on Yahoo Finance and it is to start in January, 2012.

I will look for it in the check for February, 2012, as SS is always one month delayed.

I am also looking into a new medical plan where my monthly premium will not go up as my old plan has had a projected increase in their premium.

Hopefully, I will realize the full benefit of this increase.

You will get the 3.6% raise in your January check. COLA's are always effective with the first check in January.

Default no medicare increase in 2012? for some

Here is something I just found stating that some people will not get a medicare raise in 2012.

http://blogs.reuters.com/reuters-mon...raise-in-2012/

My wife is on medicare due to her disability. 2011 was her first year on medicare and she pays $115.40. Article says in 2012 it will reduce to $106.60.

Am I wrong?

Maybe you brought us all good luck with this being your first. I'm happy for you, and never forget you earned it!

If by formula we do end up with 3.5% I am certain that it will be match with a 7.0 raise in our taxes somewhere
