I just saw this thread after receiving your PM and I'll reiterate here. Anyone can put any city on a message board. Anyone can also use different IP addresses.
The message that was pmmed to me said nothing about Helene (not sure who Helene is) so I'll assume that was a different one.
I guess if I wanted to bash someone anonymously on a message board, I wouldn't put my city.

While surfing for some info I stumbled onto that site quite by accident a few months back. I could not believe how much really mean stuff was being said, not just about Gracie, but others on TOTV as well. I found no real information there or purpose for the site other than to trash talk. That type of talk serves no purpose but to show ones jealous, mean spirit.

So true! And I HOPE she is reading all of the posts supporting her here. It is one way for her to get over the hurt... to see so much out-pouring of love for her.

I did find it and it is awful. What is most disturbing is that it appears that at least one of these posters accepted an invitation to GG's home and reported back to the group. This is beyond just a few rude remarks, it is a betrayal. What has happened to civility and respect?
If these comments are from people who are/were acquaintances, having a separate forum for those who have only met in person will not save someone from this cowardice behavior.

Again, keep in mind the "cockroach" over at Topix also posts HERE ON TOTV. Not some stranger at all....among the posters on here.

I was alerted to this TOPIX site a few years ago. The particular topic on TOTV was begun by a few who were kicked off here, or became disenchanted by the "trends" on this board. This was under the past admin who kicked a number off PERMANENTLY. Fact is there were a number of renegade boards begun by those who just did not like the "stripes" of a few on here. Most have died off.

But make no mistake....those who are on that TOPIX board are here posting...they even have posted Gracies number of posts, etc from reading the profile. From the past years I can assure you that folks lauded as heroes on this board have gone elsewhere to trash.

I know my rep on here is being blunt and I am, but I am also honest.....there are folks on here talking about it on other boards...there are folks on here with second, third and fourth screen names because they were thrown off the board for being abusive. There are folks on here who "get together" to get others....not pretty but true.

You should be able to express your opinion and not have the fact you disagree be construed as anything but that, but that is not the case. Folks will find a way to get at you, and in this case these few folks who do not like Gracie and others found this outlet. Actually, if you read back in time on that particular thread you will find the actual INITIAL screen name of a few posters who left here disenchanted. Whether they still post on here under another name I do not know, BUT I DO KNOW that those who have bashed by name on TOPIX reside HERE on TOTV.

The trash talk looks like it was first leveled at TOTV the site.

Then a few people on that other site jumped in and started slamming several TOTV members... as if they had old scores to settle or just didn't like a few TOTV member posts and decided to denigrate them.

Would like to hear from TOTV Admin on this topic. Their thoughts on double names, etc.

I will add my name to the huge list that does not want Grace to leave TOTV. I have met Grace and her family and you cannot find a nicer family.

I have no idea about TOPIX and from what I have seen from the posts here, I would not like it. Why do some people have to be so mean spirited is beyond me.

We all know the internet can be helpful and at times be used to hurt others. Gracie is an example of how helpful it can be and it is a shame that someone has used it to hurt her.

Obviously she has our support, hopefully this will pass and she will be back.

Perhaps this isn't the right thread to post this, but I see alot of TOTV classified ad posters and responders posting their phone numbers here. I wonder if admin can block phone numbers from being displayed? Might make it just a little safer.

Why would you let a few people's worthless opinion stop you from being you? As you say yourself, "you have to be you" and to h--- with them. Don't let a few jerks stop you from doing what you love. I don't know you, but I read your opinions and offers of help all the time and I appreciate it. I will be full time next January and I was really looking forward to getting to know you and have "Coffee" with you.

Good idea, I'm wondering if there are others besides Gracie that have been slandered also, myself included. I did go on that website this am to see if I've been maligned, but couldn't find anything. Maybe they've been deleted... I'm getting an education now on the dangers of blogs, since I've never written on them before I retired a yr ago...

Gracie is the sweetest and nicest person I know. It takes a real keyboard coward to attack her like that. I certainly hopes she stays around with us. Gracie, don't let some dunder head ruin your day!

That has GOT to be the worst person ever! How could anyone accept an invitation to someone's home and then turn around and trash them? UNBELIEVABLE!!! Gracie and her entire family are people who rarely come along in a lifetime and I am PROUD to call them friends.

I sincerely hope that Gracie will heal soon and return to here. This forum will never be the same without her! So many will never have the privilege of her insight, humor, and compassion if she leaves.

I thought about Gracie Girl all night and how much pain she is feeling now. I am thinking some of you people who really are her friend and love her should call her and go to her home. She is in need of moral support from her friends right now. Please make an effort to contact her and talk with her very soon. She needs to hear what is being said here as it might help her get through this. She needs to know how many people love her.

My heart really goes out to her and I feel so bad she has to go through this.

Topix appears to have no moderator. If Topix was a responsible site, they would be monitoring for cruel remarks made against individuals. It is hateful and wrong. Why is there so much anger in so many people our age? The lengthy attack on Grace was hideous . If you don't like her posts, ignore them. Smirk in private at your computer screen.

Gracie was very supportive when I was going through a rough time.
Maybe someone who knows where she lives could drop a rose with a card at her door with a note telling her how many posts on here want her back.

It appears to me that when the TOTV ADMIN got serious about kicking off those who were doing personal attacks and changing the tone of the forum to mean that they got more adverts, nicer forum maybe equals more money. If this is true maybe the TOPix one will die for lack of cash. We can hope. Don't go there as every time you check it out it helps their revenue stream.

I feel so bad that this has happened to you, Gracie. I hadn't heard of Topix before but found the site and read the inane comments directed at you and a few other TOTV members. Unfortunately, it is obvious that the Topix forum standards are very low. I hope you will stay. You have many friends here.

I agree, the poster is not a stranger to us. However on TOTV we have Admins to keep us all in line. The "other" website is toxic, and best ignored.

I finally found the topic. WOW I must say, I want GG's autograph. GG your doing it right. There have been posters on TOTV that would fit the description on topic, BUT ITS NOT YOU. The way I read that long thread is it's only one person that feels you peed in her wheatees. There are lots of folks on here that could say they are leaving and the only reply would be. GOODBYE.
