Just read our comments on totv and ignore other sites

I do not want to beat this to death, but for the most part......the comments on the other sites are from people who POST RIGHT HERE ON TOTV...not, in most cases different people.

Gracie, I would bet is stuck on who does she trust. You cannot separate these posts...same folks who are on here.

Some, I believe I have figured out..based on dates, and comments...but understand that those posters THERE are posters HERE.

Ditto that! Please don't let them win. We need your wisdom, advice and all the valuable information you have provided me and the rest of us.

I looked at Topix too. Waste of 20 minutes looking at five years of posts about TOTV. Hope you reconsider and stay on TOTV GracieGirl.

I doubt she is too worried, we all should be lucky enough to have as many friends as Gracie, Helen and Sweety.

I understand not wanting to believe it but it is true. They quote stats from this board.....talk about discussions, and I have been checking that place for a few years as I said before as it was a place for those who were thrown off here and could not get back......you can almost read and tell who it is. Recently, they went to Gracies profile and got stats like last posted etc. They are posters from here.......and Gracie understands how it works....BUT now she has no idea whom to trust..who would be here talking to her and then go there and blast away. Sad world, but its true

I had never heard of Topix until a couple of days ago. I just read several pages of The Villages forum on it and it was sickening to see how mean spirited some people can be. It actually sounded like a high school clique was gossiping about an unpopular person. Very juvenile -and hateful.

I have had disagreements regarding viewpoints with several posters but never would I think they would write vile things about me on an alternate forum just as I would not do to them. We are adults here - even though some actions sure do not seem that way.

That part of your post that I put in bold print is the thing I found really disturbing.

I am dumbfounded, I can't fathom a purpose or reason someone would do something like that.

Anyone that would even notice this forum has to be in an age range of 55 to 80.

I have gotten it, RICHIELION has gotten it.....and a few others. Gracie caught the brunt of it for sure, and as much as I was outa here, I am waiting until she is back in the saddle again on here. Her trust in nature has to be skewed right now.

Actually, we have a poster who is on a multiple ID on this board who used to post there using his real first name.....last time I was mentioned as a bad buy by name on there was when folks were upset with me for pointing out how to recognize flamers. I have been called names there when I disagree with certain people. I am not the most diplomatic person around but disagreeing is not the same as mean and nasty (a few of the words said about me over there)

But this is not about me.......getting Gracie back here and comfy is important...they overdid it with her...and they are still here READING THIS....probably enjoying all of it, but getting her back is important as well as just plain cautioning folks about any board...ANY board. I KNOW factually of a few posters on that Topix site who post quite a bit on here and back in 2008, many of those who went to that site were using the same name there as here. Now, they appear to be more devious and I hope this public airing of this will make them a bit more cautious because in some cases, the "disguise" is not even good. Has taught me, as well as hardened me, over the years to find that on line folks can have so many different personalities.

There appears to be an effort underway to erase what they can...I know of a post from someone who is still on here that cited our TOTV folks as having driven off a few folks and they mentioned them by name....it was not true as I was one who was mentioned in that post. Cannot find it now so assume a bit of housecleaning underway. GOOD......airing this is good

What I saw there looked like an obsession with one or two posters. I would be wary of stalkers who might be mentally il and obsessed with their jihad against this board, popular posters here, or both.

Some of what was posted there looks libelous, too.

There is the club area of this forum that we could use and then see if the ADMIN would allow a restricted access to the Crispers Club part of the site. Just a thought.

There are some sick individuals involved in this. For those individuals that are reading this that are regular posters on TOTV....please rethink the childish behavior that you are partaking in. Grow up and leave innocent folks alone.

I too had never heard of or been on Topix. I went there today to see what this was all about. Looks to me like high tech version of high school note passing. I will not return, what those leeches say is of no interest to me. I think I will have to shower now.

I found the offending posts on Topix and thought, how immature and devious of these women! Didn't they ever grow up beyond their teen-age yrs??? And to go to Gracie's house and then malign her character and spread vicious slander over the world wide web...!!! I wish there were laws against these types of defamation of character on the web!! Isn't that called "cyber-bullying"?? I said it before, and I'll say it again, I'm very cautious about who I trust, I too have gone through (not on the internet setting)what Gracie's going through right now, and I feel for her...it really hurts when people slander your name & character for NO reason...and it's especially terrible when that person has such good motives andis always reaching out to others to help them.

Let's not fall into some ones conspiracy theory. That site has problems because it is not monitored. This site works fine because it is monitored. It is that simple. Don't let someone's silly fears ruin your fun and respect for TOTV.

We all love Gracie and we all hope she will not go away. Trying to make this issue into a spy novel can only create problems. Let the pot settle before it is stirred right out of the kettle. I say again, build a bridge and get over it before you give yourself a coronary. Ggggeeeezzzz.

I too feel so bad for what Gracie is going through because of these people that have slandered her good name. To do this to someone that has opened her home and heart to all of us here is about as low as one can get. I have not had the pleasure of meeting you Gracie, but I do consider you to be a good friend.

Trying to connect the posts from Topic to TOTV posters is ridiculous as anyone can go on Topic and use anyone else's name to post. I could go on there and talk bad about the Golfingnut using any posters name from TOTV. Topic does not require any registration to post. Trying to connect those dots is foolish.

Let's get back to forming a group to drive over to Gracie and Sweety and sing some come back carols. That would help.

Folks, this has been going on relative to Gracie since mid 2012, almost two years. It is nothing new........the posters who run from here to there are still here and will continue to be here.

This outpouring for Gracie is great and it is the only reason I am back....no sweat, I will get out of the way.....but this is not new....the repeat offenders on here are not new. Gracie just has to get back and develop trust once again with folks. This will not stop as long as the internet is here.

If I shared with you what I have been called, well you might agree but point is....this is life. I tried to warn folks about this and also about the other pitfalls that I have seen on here but was called a bully not only on Topix but here and reminded to behave, thus my sensitivity level is not that great right now.

My prayer is that Gracie will step back on the stage a bit wiser and a bit more leery of people.


It is nothing new......at all. Those who posted there know who they are...they are either sitting laughing at all of us....or concerned they might be called out (HOPE that happens...maybe..really maybe).

This will sound crazy but just be careful with what you say and to whom you say it. I cant handle it as I am too blunt and that is ruled as being a bully, so that is what that is.

Be careful and when Gracie comes back..help her trust again...THAT is what she needs.

I do not see anyone saying ANYONE said.....nobody has made any accusations and frankly if there was a way to ferret out those who have engaged in this practice for a few years now, I will come here and post their names and take the consequences. THAT I promise to do. Gracie is a strong lady and will be just fine. She is not the only person attacked there, and I am not talking about myself with that comment.....she has taken the worst beating for sure, but go back a few years if you can stomach it and you will read many names that may be a bit familiar if you posted then.

What would non-residents do? Mom and I live in Michigan but have owned a home in TV since 2012. Since we closed on our home we've only made it to TV for a couple of weeks twice a year. We've never made it to a Crispers meeting. TOTV enables me to keep up on what's going on, ideas for contractors, etc.

How do you see a Crispers Club working for non-residents or prospective buyers?

Go back a few YEARS. You must be a lot younger than I to have so much time. I try to stay in the now and not worry about the past. I think you would be better off to stay away from sites that upset you. You should enjoy life. I celebrate in some form every day. I have been on TOTV for almost ten years using five different screen names, but will not waste my time building a conspiracy about other members. I log in every day with an open mind and an open heart. I refuse to hold a grudge as that would only hurt me.

Here is a scary thing. Today I googled my user name and saw everything I have ever posted on this site and other sites where I use this user name. A little scary. Google your user name name and see how many pages of your thoughts and comments come up.

Gracie, I can only hope you are still reading, if not posting and you can see how very much loved you are. People don't want you to leave. I have never seen this site or read the awful things people have said about you or in your name, but I am so sorry that happened to you. It's never easy to be the victim of that kind of awful bullying. Please think of those you have helped (and you know you helped me personally and I am so grateful for that) and how much we rely on your level head and sense of humor to keep a topic real. Please do what you need to but ultimately don't leave us here alone. We DO love you and don't want to see you go. You have made a huge impact on many lives and would be sadly missed by so many. Hugs and more hugs.

Is all this about TOPIX,lol!!! That forum is known for racism, defamation and hate on every level. You don't go there unless you are up for some vicious cyber bullying. People have lost jobs, had their professional and personal reputations ruined by various TOPIX forums. Best advice, don't go there, EVER! There have been plenty of efforts to have TOPIX censored. Unfortunately they have been protected up to this point by speech freedoms. Gracie, you are one of thousands who have been hurt by this forum. Do some research on the TOPIX forums of which there are thousands. You will learn a lot and find out that the attack might feel personal but it's just par for the course in the TOPIX world. Rest a bit and let your wounds heal then come back to the people who appreciate you and stay OFF topix!

Half the people who are reading this thread have gone on to Topex to see what its all about. What we are doing is advertising this #%^*#} site. I never heard of Topex before. Publicity whether it be good or bad is great advertising for the site. Gracie, kiddo. I know these impostors are the scum of the earth. Dont let them get the best of you .

Those that put their phone numbers in their posts must know that post is out there in the internet forever and a reverse index will link that phone number to an address and/or name. Anybody who wants to put a phone number in their classified ad should first get a google voice number. That number can then forward to your home or cell without revealing to the caller your private numbers.

Excellent point about Google Voice, additionally, it is free, and calls to it can be blocked easily. Many advantages to GV.

I commented before just like loriann suggested. Nobody goes to that site and if they do keep whatever you read to yourself and don't mention it to anyone. They are just trouble makers if no one goes too that site and just communicate with our own group we probably wouldn't have this problem now and that would really tick them off because nobody would pay attention.
