Something happened today for the first time evah!
Charter / Spectrum sent a new, upgraded modem for free!
They just said to return the old modem to a local store. . . Amazing customer service as last time, they only upgraded when you reported problems, which we did and got a free upgrade then. . must play lottery this weekend!~ |

Note that, if you rent equipment from Xfinity, you can always take the modem, cable boxes, or remotes to an Xfinity store and they will exchange them for the latest equipment. If you don't, you may be stuck with outdated equipment forever.

A free modem from Spectrum??
Skip the lottery. You have already used up your luck for this month! |

This upgrade is for the MA / northern house, as the FL house has the latest equipment. . . otherwise, we would be in the same situation and we just cancelled our May / June trip due to too much going on here. busy guy |

Spectrum happened in here the other day, did some sort of upgrade and then told us they knew they had a problem in this area, Hillsboro, and were making it right. We were using xfinity, no cabe boxes just a roku and a fire stick streaming. They were able to cut my price by $80 per month for their version of the same product.

The provide more remote problem solving for Spectrum (they don't have to send someone to your house). They provide more flexibility for Spectrum to control usage and expand their own network capabilities. They provide more information to Spectrum and "information" is the currency of online providers. There's no free lunch. |

I am OK with that . . . never had needed a tech anyway They provide more flexibility for Spectrum to control usage and expand their own network capabilities. I am OK with that . . . in case i want to upgrade speeds They provide more information to Spectrum and "information" is the currency of online providers. I always have suspected "they" are listening to me . . even when i mumble to myself. . There's no free lunch. yeah, i know, just got excited about getting an unexpected front door present 5 year old christmas guy |

Such great news. I like it when something like this happens.
Xfinity sends me offers for 2 years of internet for $25 a month and when I call them it's only for new customers. The next item is a raise in price for YouTube TV. Not a whole lot but gimme a break. I'm just going to pay for it. Sick of battling on all fronts. So two losses for me and a win for you. Maybe Spectrum is in my very near future???? We'll see. Thanks for the post. |
