Default Geek Squad and Paypal Phishing expedition?

I received an email this morning with Geek Squad logo thanking me for renewing my membership ($485) via PayPal.

I have no accounts with either. Have never utilized either for any transactions.

Of course do not open/respond, then track my credit card accounts.

I feel like there should be a place to report such fraud but I am hesitant due to lack of knowledge regarding contact authenticity?

Experience/suggestions?

Delete and move on. Reporting fraud to the Government is a waste of time and taxpayer money. They won't do anything but to ask Congress for more taxpayer money to handle more fraud reports.

We have been receiving so many emails telling us our credit card has been suspended, PayPal account needs updating, Netflix account, which we don't have, is going to be cancelled, etc. We have to be getting 5 or more emails every day like this.

Considering BB is less than $200, would be a red flag

I feel left out I don’t get these phishing emails unless I look in my junk folder.

Contact Geek Squad, they should have a way to forward these types of emails, and they have a vested interest in shutting these down.

I used to get the geek squad payment emails all the time through my gmail account. Just report the email as phishing - I had to do it one time and never received any more geek stuff. If you are getting them via your hotmail or outlook account, just delete and block. It might take 2-3 weeks, but soon you won’t see any more billing emails.

For PayPal spam: To report a suspicious email or website, forward it to phishing@paypal.com

Default Phishing

I have a PayPal account. Every once in a while I get an email with the official PayPal email telling me I owe money for bitcoin purchase. I called PayPal told me to foreward email to phishing@paypal.com. They immediately send me a response telling me to delete and they are working on security.

Those phishing emails might also contain a telephone number written in tiny lettering in case you have questions about the invoice. According to Paypal, those scammers want you to call that number, it's the entire objective of the phishing email. Don't call the number. If you want confirmation the email is bogus, you can call Paypal (use the number on their website, not the email) or just report it by sending it to the Paypal address someone previously provided.
