Default Sudoku Question

I am a new player. Look at the attached puzzle please. These #'s are in the same position and it trips me up. Am I not understanding something?

Not sure what you mean by the #'s are in the same position. Each box has to have one of each number without duplicating. So you will notice that this is the case with the last column of box's as you go down and the number 5. It will also be the same going across. There can only be one 5 in each row and box.

Hope this helps

Each box is a separate group. Each line is a separate group (both Vertical and Horizontal.

The groups do intersect which means a number is in a box and a line. All of the pairs you circled are in separate lines and boxes. No Problems.

Hope this helps you. I so Sudoku every day in ink!

Don't overthink the game. Ignore the "same position" and instead determine where the others need to go. Good luck. I love the game.

It's fine, here is the solution:

-----------------------
| 1 6 5 | 7 9 4 | 2 3 8 |
| 4 8 7 | 3 1 2 | 9 5 6 |
| 9 3 2 | 8 5 6 | 7 1 4 |
-----------------------
| 8 1 3 | 4 7 5 | 6 9 2 |
| 5 7 6 | 2 3 9 | 4 8 1 |
| 2 4 9 | 6 8 1 | 3 7 5 |
-----------------------
| 3 2 1 | 5 6 7 | 8 4 9 |
| 6 9 8 | 1 4 3 | 5 2 7 |
| 7 5 4 | 9 2 8 | 1 6 3 |
-----------------------

I also do Sudoka often. Rosygail, do you also do crossword puzzles?
For some reason, I find Sudoka more satisfying, perhaps because it's quick to do.
