Hello Village Girl ..... I am familiar with Sun City, AZ. For the most part, it is a community with out-dated homes and super-seniors. Sun City West is much nicer and Sun City Grand is even nicer with activities more like The Villages. If you're considering that part of the country, I lived in Pebble Creek in Goodyear, AZ. It's about 20 minutes or so from Sun City and is very convenient to I-10. It's about 25 miles west of Phoenix. I would recommend Pebble Creek highly. Stay away from the area South of Phoenix because it is prone to severe wind and dust storms. Check out this website for Pebble Creek:

I'm not at all interested in AZ to live. At my age, I would shrivel like a prune in that dry air! I'm just curious about the differences. When I tell people about The Villages, they always say, oh, just like Sun City! Is it?

I agree with tkret. Sun City Grand is very nice. We spent a week there on their Lifestyle Preview-type program. I believe that it is all built out so probably not much info about it on the internet except for resale information thru realtors.

Pebble Creek, and other Robson communities, are nice too probably would be our choice if we were looking in AZ.

I am very familiar with the Sun Cities in Arizona.......as my parents lived there for over 20 years.

I will rate them 1-10 with 10 being the best.

Now..........the reason that Sun Cities in AZ got such high marks from me is because they all have some indoor pools....as well as outdoor pools.

TV would get a perfect 10.........but they truly need a few indoor pools in order to get that SWIMDAWG perfect 10 score!

Sun Cities are okay.........but they are not kept up anything like TV....and they don't offer half the activities that TV has to offer. They have very little live entertainment. It's a case of "different strokes for different folks". My parents were very happy there for those decades.........BUT they would have absolutely LOVED TV! They never realized such a wonderful place existed.
