I don't care if they waterboard him, rip out his tonenails one by one or any other means they might have on hand. He showed no pity to the people who's lives he destroyed and he deserves no pity from us.
For the innocent little six year old girl who now has no legs and her 8 year old brother who is dead.....even the below lodging would be too good....

We will be humane......we will make sure the needles are sterile when his earned lethal dose is administered.

Excellent job by all agencies involved in the pursuit.

It is easy too be tolerant, humane and squishy when one is distant with no emotional investment.

Yes after all for as much as we like to think this country operates to a certain high level of laws and compassion our history is rich in just the opposite. Why change now?

It's God's job to judge the terrorists. It's our job to arrange the meeting.

Thank you Boston Police Department, MA State Police, FBI and the other 30 agencies that worked to bring this search to its conclusion.
Many join you in pride of your home state and particularly in the people of Boston who were asked to stay inside and did and the government for shutting things down. This event was unprecedented and much honor goes to the folks in the area for following the rules and helping the authorities apprehend this man. I may name my next pet Fenway.

No matter where we are from we have to lift our glasses to Boston on this day.

If only I could understand how anyone could plan such a horrible thing? If only we who care could fix the lives of those who have had them forever changed.

Hopefully through humane interrogation they can determine what the brother's motivation was & if there were possibly others involved. I'm so glad they were able to capture at least one of them alive.
I agree. I do not believe that torture results in any kind of solid results and it puts the actor of this kind of behavior in the same or similar category as the people whose values we have been fighting against for so long.

It is important to find out if this was just two lone wolves or a terrorist cell which might have other plans.

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Thomas Paine all supported the fair and decent treatment of even our enemies. Both the Redcoats and Hessian mercenaries were treated with decency and respect. Our Founding Fathers did this even though more American soldiers died as prisoners than died on the field of battle. They knew that American ideals meant something, and that fair and decent treatment was not only the right thing to do but the practical thing to do (many Hessian mercenaries stayed here and became loyal American citizens, for instance). Surely we can learn something from the wisdom of our Founding Fathers.

And what if we need to waterboard the SOB to get the information - I have to say I am in the camp to do what is needed to get the information needed. Playing the "nice guy" isn't working so well and it's time to get serious about stopping these attacks. Will the possibility of torture stop someone from doing this? probably not, but if it provides the information we are looking for so be it. This is a young, scared kid that would probably spill his guts when the going gets tough. Just one person's opinion.

Maybe, maybe not with respect to using torture to get information from this 19 year old. The studies I have looked at show that subjects will say anything to stop the violence being done to them. http://www.debate.org/torture/

Default Treatment of suspect #2

First. Humanely treat his injuries to ensure his survival.

Second. Interrogate him to determine certain vital information, such as the identities of any accomplices and/or support groups.

Third. Subject him to principles of Justice for his crimes. Islamic style justice would be appropriate, with public stoning as the end result!

And what would you say if our enemies used the same kind of "justice" against us? Stoned someone they caught who had ordered the use of drones that ended up killing mainly civilians. Should we have adopted the Nazi atrocities to fight the Nazis?

No! Wrong!! We did not murder and maim innocents in a cowardly way. If we beat the holy hell out of this piece of sewage, we'll do it face to face and man to man.

This scum deserves no kindness of any sort. Those who think he didn't get enough hugs, or that mommy wouldn't make him pancakes and because of that he deserves some sort of "humane" treatment spit in the face of all of those who this creep killed or maimed.

That's very insulting.

Sorry if you find it insulting, but it is true. He put that bomb down next to 2 children with the intent of killing or at least maiming them - why should he deserve kindness of any kind?
