Default card from obama

Yesterday in my mail i got a birthday card signed by both the president and his wife. The envelope was hand addressed and it had the exact postage stamps on it. The return addy said the white house and the zip code. The card wished me happy birthday , which is in a few weeks and also it thanked me for my time serving in the military. It was all very real and authentic looking. My question is how did the prez pick me out to get a card from him. He signed the card and so did his wife and to look at the signatures you cant tell for sure if they are real signatures or very good stamped duplications. Can anyone shed any information on this mystery. I think the president is a very nice man but i dont know him personally and have never met him.?? One last thing, the card was cancelled in the district of columbia.

I know that you can request a birthday card for a friend or relative who is over a certain age. BIRTHDAY GREETINGS. Birthday greetings will be sent only to people turning 80 or older or veterans turning 70 or older.

Here is the website usgovinfo.about.com/blgreetings.htm

I bet someone requested this for you! Maybe a Son or Daughter?

I have heard that these are done with the auto-pen signer. Pretty sure the Pres doesn't have time to hand sign birthday cards!

I am not the president. I was of the PTA once.

But I too add my wishes to the commander in chief in wishing you the best birthday ever and many more right here in Lower Paradise with all of us.

I did a Google search and found this link:

How to Order Greetings From the White House

If this link does not work, do your own Google search for "greetings from president" (without quotes). I did find out that they must be requested, and they are for landmark birthdays and anniversaries.

Happy Birthday, Tom, and many, many more !

It was probably your son who ordered it as a surprise.

I did the same for my Mom and Dad for their 50th anniversary. It was during the Reagan Admin and my Dad , aDemocrat despised Reagan. Well the White House not only sent the anniversary card they sent two. When I asked my Dad if he received anything he replied "just like Reagan to waste money and send two cards. "

I had a card sent to my Grandmother on her 80th birthday . She was a lifelong Democrat, but from that day until the day she died, Ronald Reagan was her favorite President.Grandma Perehing's favorite Reagan quote was,"Politics is suppose to be the second oldest profession.I have come to realize that it bears a very strong resemblance to the first."She would laugh every time she heard it,this country was a better place with her in it.
