It definitely is not an ideal match demographically to The Villages, except that TJ's is like Costco in that the majority of shoppers are in a higher income and education bracket.

When I'm at a Publix in TV, I frequently see people with a cart full of almost 100% processed foods. While many of the snacks at Trader Joe's are processed, most of their food is not.

The larger relevancy is that the population of TV isn't enough. The better location would be South Ocala just of I-75.

That way they capture Ocala population plus the upper 1/2 to 2/3 of TV residents. But, realistically, that might not still be enough population for the sales velocity they want. However, being just off 75 could make-up for some of that via travelers stopping.

From AI

The average shopper goes 3.6 miles to a grocery store and 87% of Americans won't travel more than 15 minutes to shop. The 15-20 people on TOTV & FB that are constantly harping about bringing a Trader Joe's to TV, just isn't enough to support one.

Guess we are in the 13% who will travel more than that and do believe lots of villagers are also in that 13% as well

I’ve been to Trader Joe’s a few times and just don’t understand what
is so great about this store.

If it's nice restaurants you're looking for, try the TJs in Doctor Phillips on Sand Lake RD. There are a lot of nice ones nearby and it's about the same distance as the TJs in Winter Park.

High quality fruits and vegetables as well.
^Concur. In addition, their pump hand soap, frozen selection is chock full of wonderful things to keep tucked in the corner of the freezer. I skip their dairy for the most part, but the little packs of nuts and the produce and especially the wines are great! They have my favorite wine as well. The NZ Sauvignon Blanc with the orange triangle logo is delicious and a reasonably priced $8.

Reminds me of a grocery store designed for food tourists. Buy yourself a food souvenir.

It does have lower prices on many products compared to Publix. Other than that, if you have a bland palate or not interested in organic foods and plant based alternatives then there probably isn't much to be excited about.
