Default Trek Verve 3 - - - Yes or No?

Looking for insights from knowledgeable bicyclists.

I’m not a rider but want to be.

My current ride is a Dahon Mariner folding bike that I used while living on a boat full time for the last 6 years.

Intended use for the new bike will be riding in neighborhoods and along bike/cart paths.

I’m looking for comfort....after being on a “clown” bike for 6 years.

My research has me currently focused on the Trek Verve 3. I haven’t test ridden it yet but will in the next week or two.

Is the Verve a good choice for my intended use?

I have a Verve 2 and love it. I use it 3 times a week for a 10 mile ride. I use it mainly to get an aerobic workout. It allows me to go fast enough to get my heartbeat up. For me it gives me a good range of gears to get up any small hills and cart path tunnels. I am south of 44 so I do a lot of riding on The paths around hogeye. Definitely give it a test ride it should work well for the riding you describe. I did add a gel seat for a little more comfort. Good luck!
