Default AT&T and DIRECTV

I see that AT&T bought out DIRECTV for either 45.5 or 48.5 BILLION $$$.

Wonder what will change?

More bureaucracy. Poorer customer service. Higher prices. More confusing bundles. But no real changes for about two years. Those young MBAs have trouble with implementation.

I have had excellent service when someone is dispatched to fix the problems I have had with AT&T U-Verse service (Fiber Optic based, not a satellite dish.) The call centers are now in one of the many low labor cost countries where they speak "english", but don't understand American-english. The bright side of reduced labor costs is to increase the share holder value of AT&T stock in our diversified retirement portfolios.

We have had excellent customer service from AT&T U-Verse-so much so we cringe when we deal with Comcast. We just had our modem fail this past Saturday afternoon and I called the technical service group at AT&T. They ran some tests (I had tried re-setting everything before I called) and the short of it is that they sent a service technician out Sunday morning to replace the modem, and he also checked the wiring from my house to the outside junction box and went as far as going to another junction box to make sure that there were no wiring/signal issues.

We dropped Charter for AT&T U-verse and would not go back unless we had zero options. We are wishing that U-Verse would show up in the Villages so we can give Comcast the boot, don't know what will happen now that AT&T has Direct TV.
