When did all these Princesses come about? From my childhood I only remember Cinderella and Snow White. I realize that raising sons and having grandsons has kept me in Star Wars & Super Mario, however, with the addition of a granddaughter four years ago, I can't seem to keep up with all these newbees.

There are several, Belle, Ariel, Aurora, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan and the better known, Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. all considered Princesses per Disney.

In all its simplicity this topic is kinda thought-provoking.

WHY were Cinderella's step-mother and step-sisters mean to her? IMHO it was jealousy! Isn't that always the case ? And, isn't it always women who are jealous of one another ?

Why? Maybe you're smarter, more independent, younger, more confident, prettier
