Default Att: Ladies & Gold Jewelry

Gold is at a all time high, $1750 an ounce. How many of you ladies have gold jewelry you never wear anymore? How many broken chains, or one earring do you have? Gather it up and sell it at one of those jewelry stores that have big signs "WE BUY GOLD". I sold gold today and they handed me $2900 in cash and I was amazed because the gold didn't even fill up my palm. Although, one bangle bracelet sold for $1,000 because it was 40 grams.

$2900 was a gift so I plan to stimulate the economy and give our children more money for Christmas. I can't wait to see the look on their face when they see that check. Of course I will do some frivolous shopping for one item I really don't need. The kids will have fun and so will I.

If you have gold items you never wear and know you won't ever wear again, sell it and have fun with that money. Give some away and spend some.

I did this once last year, but need to make another pass through my jewelry box. I know I have more stuff that I can get rid of. If you have never done this before, it is really easy.

I just took the pieces I no longer wanted to the local jewelry store I deal with in Michigan. Because they are licensed, I had to leave a finger print and have my driver's license scanned too.

Everyone in my neighborhood who has sold gold went to Coast to Coast Jewelry in Southern Trace Shopping Center---off Route 466 on Wedgewood Lane. It is a few doors down from Publix --between Route 466 Salon and BonWorth Clothing.

Default Sell to the refiner directly

You might want to google midwest refineries in considering selling gold or silver. They pay 95% of the spot price of the gold. For instance your 40 gm gold bracelet, if 14 karat metal, has a gold value of 1325 today. If you got 95% of that value it would have been about 1260. I don't begrudge the local merchants their profit margin but you can sell directly to the refiner. You do have to pay the cost of shipping and I'd suggest insuring the package. A great website for doing the calculation is

http://www.silverrecyclers.com/Calcu...alculator.aspx for gold and
http://www.silverrecyclers.com/Calcu...alculator.aspx for silver

I have no connection whatsoever with the business, just a satisfied customer.
