The one in Gainesville is very close to 75. We always stop there on our way down from New York.

A bit far to grocery shop (IMHO)....been to Gainesville! There is a new one in Winter Park that just opened either last week or the week before. Waiting til the "new-ness" wears off before heading south!

I've never been able to understand the "magic" of Trader Joe's. Visited one once, and couldn't figure out what the big deal was. I cannot imagine driving to Jacksonville Beach or Orlando to go to a grocery store.

I had a Trader Joe about one mile from my house in Maryland. Hardly ever went there. Why bother?

However, I agree that their frozen dinners were excellent.

The one in Gainesville is a lot closer. I find their products, to be of high quality.

"Two Buck Chuck", is now three dollars a bottle. A person at the store said they buy it for $2 per bottle, but can't sell it directly. They send it to another distributor, who sells it back to them, with a surcharge of a $1 per bottle.

This sounds crazy, but this is what I was told.

Don't kill the messenger.

I think Gainesville will still be more convenient, if not actually closer in miles. It's not as easy to get to Winter Park.

As to the big deal about TJ's.....better ingredients in their processed foods, less GMO products, more organic on the shelves, and a reasonable amount in fresh produce. Outstanding frozen dinners for when you just can't cook, one of the top rated olive oils, great assortment of cheeses, snacks, coffee and teas, etc., etc. I could go on and on, but the really big deal is that all those "better in my opinion" items cost less!!
