Default Burglary in Wildwood

The Daily Sun had an article this morning that a 36 year old man was arrested for burglarizing his former girlfriend's house in Wildwood. He stole an X-Box, a flat screen TV, a Google tablet, AND 30 cell phones.

Can anyone give reasonable explanations as to WHY a law abiding person would have 30 cell phones in their house? I would hope the Wildwood police would be asking about that instead of just concentrating on the burglary.

Sounds like the stuff was probably his in the first place.

30 cellphones doesn't mean he's doing anything illegal. The cellphones may be inventory for resale on eBay. I used to sell lots of stuff on eBay, including used cellphones. I'd buy them at yard sales for really cheap and resell them. Not a big deal and I'm not a criminal.

A possibility...just a possibility...These could be "burner phones" which are disposable and often used in illicit activities (criminal enterprise). E-bay inventory, not so much...

Not required. Not an issue. So they had 30 Cell phones in the house! Is that breaking some law?

Good point. Glad the caught the man. I am sure they will be able to figure out why the victim had 30 cell phones. And, unless she is some kind of drug dealer, I doubt if there is any other explanation than resale of these phones. She would probably be on the police radar if she were a drug dealer as well. And if not, she sure is now.

It could be if they were not all hers. But, she will be on the police radar now.

RIGHT! That's why he was BREAKING in. To STEAL the stuff he stole! And you think he sells them on eBay. REALLY.

You must think there are some dumb police in Wildwood.

Bogie - I've spent some time speaking with Wildwood officers in their Brownwood substation, as well as some of the higher ups at their main station. (no jokes please). In all honesty I have been impressed with them and their interest in serving us, as well as the citizens of Wildwood. I very much appreciate your comment in their favor. They are a very professional group.

Sad to say but I have 17 cell phones in my house. Not counting the ones I have traded in or sold.
