You can be fined for breaking the law, but can't be fined for not following the "rules".
There is a difference. |

Driving to NYC
Quote:
When our daughter drove down here at the beginning of Covid (she and husband were forced out of their campus housing) she was stopped entering FL on I95. She explained she was staying with us & quarantining for 14 days. Which she did. No issues. |

How ironic....
The state who's residents are the ones largely responsible for Florida's "uptick" (when they FLOCKED here when they were "let out of the box", and obviously DID NOT quarantine, because their vacation rental was ONLY a week or 2 in the first place) is the one with the BIGGEST mouth...waving IT'S finger at US... They were in the newly opened restaurants and stores, spreading that crap around like typhoid Mary... |

States are woefully out of money. Consider it a health and money issue.

Driving from TV to NYS
We entered NYS on the 13th. No border check. In fact, we were passed by a state trooper who undoubtedly saw our Fl tag. We are currently self quarantined aboard our boat according to NYS Dept of Health guidelines. Being rule followers, we filled out the on-line DOH form. The next day a very pleasant nurse from Seneca County called to say they would be sending us a daily text to check on our health. So far we're fine and we appreciate the contact. This is the only point of contact by the state to verify our compliance, she told me.
We look forward to ending our quarantine on the 27th. When we do, we will be free to leave the marina (by car) AND, if for any reason we get stopped by police, we have the form we filled out WITH DOH ACKNOWLEGEMENT as proof of quarantine in our cellphones. In the meantime, we're enjoying cruising Seneca Lake, quarantined on our boat. |

It will likely cost $2000 or more to fight a $2000 fine. And if you just ignore it they will report it to the credit agencies and the next time they catch you in NY you will get picked up. In the long run, it may just be better to pay it and forget it. Anyway, thanks for the warning!

CT is asking people coming from these states to self quarantine for 14 days.
States In Connecticut Quarantine Advisory: Alaska Alabama Arkansas Arizona California Delaware Florida Georgia Iowa Idaho Indiana Kansas Louisiana Maryland Missouri Mississippi Montana North Carolina North Dakota Nebraska New Mexico Nevada Ohio Oklahoma South Carolina Tennessee Texas Utah Virginia Washington Wisconsin On Monday, Gov. Ned Lamont announced that travelers coming from the states in which the travel quarantine advisory is in effect will have to follow protocols or they could face fines. Travelers will now have to complete an online Travel Health form before traveling to Connecticut from the impacted states, regardless of how they travel to Connecticut, Lamont said. Lamont said that travelers will be subject to a $1,000 fine if they do not comply with the quarantine or complete the Travel Health form. Spot checks will also be conducted at Bradley Airport, Lamont said. It's a Civil penalty, not Criminal. I'd rip it up! All of this crap is going to end up in the Civil courts, and it'll be interesting to see how the Constitutionality of this, comes out? State and Local politicians making various edicts, changing them at will, then deciding who/what can open or do various activities? It's sad!
