Default Washing machine

We are going stop using liquid fabric softeners in my new washing machine, just use the sheet softener in dryer.
I pretty sure that’s what killed the 9 year old one. I will be routinely using cleaning solution every month or two with new one.

If your washing machine over 5 years old most likely it looks like one in video maybe Not as bad but definitely dirty especially if starting to smell.

Front loaders also have problems under door seal.

“ Fabric softener is fatty and clumpy by nature, which could eventually clog your washing machine's pipes and collect in the fabric softener dispenser. If you do not remove the residual softener, you could begin to see or smell mold in your washing machine. Neither clogging nor mold growth are desirable for your washer. “

Get whole house water softening, wash with normal powder or liquid, then hang clothes on outside drying line to dry, (yes you can!) and there is no need for any smelly pipe clogging softeners.

Isn't the whole purpose of laundry detergent to soften the water so the clothes get clean? I don't use any clothes softeners in the washing machine or the dryer. And, I only use detergent that has no perfumes.

I think only females will use detergent that has perfumes in it.

Lots of chemicals in those dryer sheets…….

Check out some “Dryer Balls”. Basically made of wool and go in the dryer. No chemicals.

We have a top load washer and after each load or the last load of the day, we leave the lid open to allow the residual moisture to dry out. Seems to help eliminate smell from any possible mold.

Better than sheets in the dryer are wool balks. You put them in and they will stop static cling. They are reusable and add nothing to the dryer. Towels actually become less absorbent when using sheets so won’t have this problem will wool balls either.

Among the common molds that grow in washing machines (and dish washers) is an otherwise obscure fungus that causes a rare brain infection. This i the fungus you may have heard of that "eats radiation."

I use white vinegar as a softener. Have for years and it really works.

We do that also I had no smell, but I was blind sided with all build up in outer tub (can’t see it unless remove front panel on washer) I’ll do better with new on. The old washer still works after I cleaned out pump (took pump out pulled pump housing apart and cleaned and tested it before it I reinstalled it) but I could see the outer tub build up and figured it was doomed to fail near future.
