There are hundreds of Villages employees out of work right now. I'd love to see some of them return to work - but doing jobs that are needed during this crisis. Like pool monitors at every pool. They could take 4-5 hour shifts, and the pools could have somewhat reduced hours. Mornings are usually the coolest time of day, and mid-late afternoon hours are usually the hottest. So maybe the pools wouldn't open until 10AM, and close at 6pm. Gives everyone a chance to cool off and be in the presence of other human beings, without forcing a crowding situation. And gives jobs back to some of the low-wage workers who otherwise would currently be unemployed.

Rec centers could be made available for clubs that have few enough people in it, that even if EVERYONE in the club showed up, they would still be 6 feet apart in the meeting room. Again - no visitors, no one who isn't a club member allowed - no "new member recruitment lunches."

No one gets a second chance, no exceptions.

Sports pools for lap swimming only. Limit of one swimmer per lane. Residents only, can reserve one hour time slots.

I agree re: barbers, stylists and nail techs. Others have stated how this could be managed. My opinion on nail techs is that it's a necessary service for the aging population. Oh, I know some will jump on me for this. They wouldn't have to polish but do the other things. Pedicures for some people is a necessary thing for health. Making sure there isn't cracks in the heals, doing the nail trimming properly etc. Along with many, I could use a hair-cut as well. Maybe these are 1st world issues but nonetheless would like to see these businesses back to work (which is a necessity to the economy).

I would most definitely be wearing my mask and gloves. I don't get manicures!!

From what I have seen, most of us seem to know what to do to lessen our risk of infection. If we can go to a grocery, why not a boutique, clothing or furniture store? If your barber/stylist is wearing a mask and working by appointment, that should be reasonably safe. Restaurants could reopen with fewer tables inside, dining outdoors is pretty safe. Outdoor activities should resume, and a spray disinfectant should be made available for the equipment (I know of a concentrate that makes 106 gallons for $80). No large gatherings in meeting rooms yet, but indoor activities where social distancing can be maintained could restart. We could even resume entertainment on the squares by blocking off the street surrounding the square so seating could be spaced further apart.

All these businesses that are mentioned in some replies, have offered how to open. My question is WHO decides which Barber or Stylist gets to work? The word limited means some are still out of jobs. It also looks to me that opening would suit us and not the associates. Especially Barbers and Stylist. What if ur stylist is not the one chosen are u willing to go to just anyone? Stylists were gloves while doing color, good luck with that as there has been such a run on gloves. What makes anyone think they can procure them. Pedicurist on the other hand work farthest away from U and are obviously not in ur face.

I'm looking forward to when restaurants can reopen with normal or near-normal operations. It's not that we actually go out a lot, but the variety was really nice. I also worry that the owners & staff at some of the smaller places will be able to make it much longer.

Year's ago I went to Big Bob's Barber shop on 27/441, " One Time " that was enough for me. What they should do on arrival give you a bowl with a number on it.

It reminded me of the times out of desperation I had to use the base barber shop.

In the chair for around 5 minutes tops, then the a loud voice " NEXT " .

I'll wait for Cal's to open likely by the 1st of May, just a prediction.

I think all that contact is asking for trouble. I don't care if Attilla the Hun is standing guard and monitoring and suggesting. I remember vividly in the fifties being warned as a child not to go swimming in public pools because of polio and they had old fashioned chlorine back than. Another thing....Orange Blossom Baby....just like everything else that is only a "little" job or a job that wasn't there before....those are the things that inch up and cause everybody MORE expense. One of the things I like about the Villages is that it is affordable for most people. Another thing I like is that the developers do EVERYTHING they can to NEVER be in a position where they direct or order people around.

Was NOT in any way suggesting that anyone should go there, was merely pointing out he advertised the opening on 5/1/20. If he can open what about everyone else? We’re did HE get information that no one else seems to have. We are only speculating that everything will reopen 5/1. I totally agree with you, wait for Cals

I sent him an email when he let the beaches open for Spring break. Never got a response.
