Your email address gets harvested by candidates and you suddenly start getting emails from them. The first one I got actually says Thank You For Requesting A Vote-By-Mail Ballot.

We get ours by mail, and have gotten zero mail so far. Maybe just lucky

Unfortunately all 3 counties online sites (Marion, Sumter and Lake) use the same software and require an email address for confirmation. And in Florida, all of this information is public record and available to any candidate who requests the information.

I would never use a Vote-By-Mail ballot because you never know if your vote is counted. If the people opening the ballots believes that the signature on your envelope does not match the signature on file, it is not counted. This happens to thousands of ballots in Florida each election. In addition, many ballots are not counted because people forget to sign the envelope containing the ballot.

I have no other option.

Gee, if you do it right, it isn't a problem!
