This is a little obscure, but I used to love Big Cherry! Brown & Haley makes the similar Cherry Mountain.

That's a great website, very nostalgic.
I forgot all about boxes of cracker jack. Yum.
Crispy Crunch was my favorite chocolate bar.

So, you are assuming I didn't have fun? Now you spoiled my fun.

Since you asked, no, I don't think your post which I referenced was meant in fun at all.
We are all talking about treats we enjoyed when we were kids.
I don't see how the statement "I feel healthy. Eating candy promotes weight gain and diabetes" is meant to do anything other than make people feel guilty.

I didn't realize the rules are so strict that I'm not allowed to express what's important to me. Fun to me is being healthy. And a word of caution shouldn't hurt, but help people to realize that the past is the past. Reminiscing is fine, in my opinion, as long as the purpose isn't to rekindle a desire to start indulging again, as some might have done as a child. We all did dumb things as kids, like eat candy. I ate some too.

Now don't forget folks, I'm not the one making a big thing out of this. I'm simply responding to an attack.

The fact that most of us are seniors from different states now living in TV allows us to reminisce about many subjects. Discovering that other folks shared similar experiences ( such as candy, prom, music etc) is a pleasant validating experience for most readers of this site
. Yes everyone is permitted to vent, rant,or give their opinion about these subjects...it makes for interesting reading to find out some of the views ( some new some old or unique).
Hopefully posts are for self expression and not for attacking a view .
Ones experiences with flavor or brands of Candy are meant to be a nostalgic" flash from the past " to see who among us inTV had similar likes, dislikes of their candy choices and discover some sort of commonality .

Pink Owl gum cigars, just the pink or turquoise colors Not the yellow ones! Still like Bazooka bubble gum but need to chew 3 to get the really big bubbles ! Always worry about my fillings and caps but love the bubble gum!

DigitalGranny 10-04-2014 08:37 AM

Oh I had completely forgotten the bubble gum cigars! That was the best bubble gum!
