Default The joy of diplomatic posts on a public forum.

There are some posters who always make their point without making people angry.

There is one who I particularly enjoy who always helps us to see his side and often will post in areas of great debate and high feelings without attacking other posters or demeaning their views.

I know when I see his name and avatar that I am going to learn something and I will think about certain points he has made again during the day or week.

I think this poster is so good at educating and being reasonable because he has so many very different life skills. He is a solid and successful businessman, married to delightful woman and this guy can cook, even sew, ride a Harley, manage several properties and knows how to do all sorts of practical things to repair stuff around the house, the car and has general knowledge of so many things.

He is smart, and has good common sense and he knows how to WORK and get his hands dirty.

He can tell you how it is, how it should be, how it was and tell you to go to hell if he needs to....and makes you look forward to the trip.

I am a huge fan of both the work ethic and diplomacy.

I feel better.

Default Another thing...

If someone is hitting a nerve with you...press the button and read some of their back posts.

Most always they are an equal opportunity exasperator.

In other words, it isn't just YOU they are annoying.

And they never show their face at TOTV gatherings.

Why is annoying "you" a bad thing? Are people not entitled to their own opinions? Why would someone voluntarily socialize with people of vastly differing views? To be ganged up on? To be ostracized in person?

I know I personally ruffle feathers...making you gasp isn't my intention, my intention is to give you something else to consider. We've all grown up living with lies and deception, propaganda is part of our daily life. It's not easy to "unlearn" a lifetime of untruths. Don't dismiss people as wackos too quickly. Don't be narrow minded.

This isn't directed at you gracie, it's a more general statement about letting others state their own opinion no matter how wrong "you" may feel they are.

Would guess that hordes of "annoyed" are the ones I probably want to avoid at the TOTV social gatherings as I'd bet they are the only ones who attend.

I did not know it was a negative to not "show your face at a TOTV gathering" quite honestly.

We have ignore buttons for those who we do not want to read....the fellow you are bragging about uses it. He has told me so.

If I have annoyed anyone, just tell me how....I only know how to say what I feel about things which I was under the impression was the whole idea of the board. If my opinion does not agree with yours, I am sorry, but that is not my intent nor should you try and agree with everyone else.

I am a bit confused by this thread but wanted to speak my peace. I enjoy my time on here...do not attend TOTV gatherings....get pretty much only pm's from folks I have "annoyed" so suspect I should duck

Suggest you accept the challenge of reading back posts of those that might have been annoyed by you. Might take a while to get to 16K.

Yup, he is a good guy (sorry, GolfingNut, even if you can sew and cook) but his politics are totally skewed.

The amazing thing about the Crisper's get togethers is that some people that I've considered pretty mean-spirited here are truly delightful in person. Now, I'm absolutely delightful here (no one ) but a royal brat in person.

You ARE not a royal brat. You are smart and fair and kind. Bless your dear liberal heart. I am gonna drag you toward the middle, one of these days.

You should specify just which post this colloquialism was directed at as it could be interpreted as surprise or disdain. What does it mean in Ohioism?

I'm afraid this thread has "DISASTER" written all over it because it comes across as a "fishing expedition". That's because there's no stated purpose, just innuendo. This might be a replay of the show "Dragnet".

Now, now fella, sometimes a favorite poster who touts a certain diet uses the very same tactics. Fishing expedition, indeed.

A bit of the pot calling the kettle black.
