Default Words of PEACE by MLK

“We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence.”

“Here is the true meaning and value of compassion and nonviolence, when it helps us to see the enemy’s point of view, to hear his questions, to know his assessment of ourselves. For from his view we may indeed see the basic weaknesses of our own condition, and if we are mature, we may learn and grow and profit from the wisdom of the brothers who are called the opposition.”

“We still have a choice today: nonviolent coexistence or violent co-annihilation. We must move past indecision to action.”

“In spite of temporary victories, violence never brings permanent peace.”

"If you succumb to the temptation of using violence in the struggle, unborn generations will be the recipients of a long and desolate night of bitterness, and your chief legacy to the future will be an endless reign of meaningless chaos.

“We adopt the means of nonviolence because our end is a community at peace with itself. We will try to persuade with our words, but if our words fail, we will try to persuade with our acts.”

"Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness. We must meet the forces of hate with the power of love."

“Now let us begin. Now let us re-dedicate ourselves to the long and bitter, but beautiful, struggle for a new world.”

The people committing these acts cannot be sane. How can a sane human being think it is ok to go out and kill someone just because they disagree with their views? They have to know that they won’t get away with it and that they will spend the rest of their life in prison if they are not executed. How can their lives be so awful that they don’t care?

Don't overlook evil, that's probably more prevalent lately than insanity.

Context is important. Martin Luther King, Jr., would probably not advocate storming Omaha Beach with only Bibles.

But for his place and time peaceful protest was the best and most practical approach. He was shot by a scumbag. Assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. | The Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute

Also an important quote from a great man. Sort of.... Ghandi was a great man but probably did not actually say that.
