Posh 08 your Mr. Ghost (now known as Mr. Snowman) looks like the cold has HIM scared! Your house is beautiful - hope you all find a buyer soon and can bring him south!
Thank you Freeda. We will buy him a straw hat and sunglasses when we move down to TV.

Your post reminds me of when my son moved to Florida. He called me knowing it had snowed in CT and said,

"Welcome to Paradise".

Ah...winters in the North Country. Let me tell you about the winters in NYS....I have to agree that Mother Nature can really paint a beautiful picture when it snows. Some of the scenery here has been breathtaking. Truly a winter wonderland. However, after the plows go through with salt and sand, the cars slide off the road and into each other because they've forgotten how to drive in the snow from the last year or are they 16 year olds that have just gotten their licenses out to test the new snow, the slop, the dirt, the aggravation and expense that goes along with the snow far outweighs the moments of beauty. Scraping the ice off the windshield, boots lined up at the door, trying to find your mittens and hats, heavy, bulky coats, so cold out it takes your breath away. And, the cars don't like to start because it gets so cold out. Last year I witnessed -26 degrees! I think I'll take the heat and sun...any day. We are ready to make the move to TV!!

Default winter storm

We lived in VA for 40 and I have to admit to not missing the snow, one bit
When I wax nostalgic about the "pretty snow", I whip out the photo albums.

Snow IS pretty. But it's everything else that goes along with it that we've grown weary of - cold temps, salt on the roads (what it does to vehicles), icy conditions (including black ice)...........it's all part of the deal, though! I suppose we'd feel differently if we enjoyed winter sports, etc..........

Oh yes.........winter sports. Fell while skiing years ago sustaining chipped fracture cervical vertebrae. Walking dawg last year.....slipped on black ice under snow sustaining concussion. I'll pass on those winter sports, thank you! Bring on the warmth and the sunshine!

Snow is pretty.............ON A CHRISTMAS CARD! That's it!

Any time I need to see snow I turn on the weather channel and then I thank the good Lord for redirecting my life to The Villages.

I feel exactly the same way! We usually leave Canada in late October. This year we're staying around for a white Christmas. I know that when we finally roll into The Bubble, I'll be even more appreciative than usual for the palm trees, the sunny skies, and my wonderful friends that I'm longing to see again!
