Default Wish I was there!

Blizzard warnings in KC area, first time in 7 years. We have already got 2-3 inches and forecast calling for another 5-7. My three kids have all lost their power but they have generators. Our power is still on.

What a bummer! So that is what happens when one leaves TV? Hurry back it's not the same without you!

I know whatcha mean! Spent T-giving week in Maine - 6" before we got there, 8" while we were there, got out yesterday before another 6"-12" arrives Tu/We! Grateful to be back in NJ with mid 40* temps and sunshine today! Won't even mind the rain tomorrow with same temp! But do wish we were back in our snowbird nest! Single digit weeks til our arrival!

Fond memories of NW Missouri winters before all the forests got bulldozed for corn. Always looked forward to first big snow. You never know what you’re going to miss???

We are in South east Iowa currently in the middle of a blizzard expecting 9 to 12 inches of snow with 40 mph winds. I hope I don't have a heart attack shoveling my 400 foot long driveway tomorrow. Still almost 5 weeks till we get to The Villages. Any wonder why we will be looking for a home when we get there?

Tom, you shovel a 400 foot driveway? That's impressive and would trash my back. I plow a 600 foot driveway with a Diesel tractor and that's hard enough. We got about 8 inches of wet snow last week and woke up the morning after Thanksgiving to a temperature of 2 degrees. My golf clubs are in the basement so the balls won't freeze and no longer have any distance pop. I wish I was Samantha from the show Bewitched, and I could twitch my nose and instantly be at our home in the Villages. Oh well, I guess we will have to settle for a long 1,400 mile drive south later this winter. Can't wait to get there!

We got about 5-6 inches, but some good drifts with 40 mph winds. First snow of 3 inches or more here in more than 5 years.

At times I miss living in Smithville; our Cairn Terrier loved running in the snow. Our son lives in Liberty and finally got to use the snowblower we gave him when we moved here.
