If the killing of Martin is found justifiable perhaps Zimmerman will sue NBC and CNN for their misleading reporting and recoup what this is costing him and his family as well as the rest of us in so many ways. Hopefully far costlier fallout from this mess such as riots, other destruction to property and perhaps injuries and killings will be averted by holding this trial. O'Mara is an excellent lawyer and so far he is representing George well. I don't know anything about the judge but I do pray for an impartial and intelligent one.

I just reviewed the wikipedia article and found a section about George's character which backs up what his father has said about him. According to his family some of his relatives are black.

The Florida taxpayers will once again pay for his prosecution and his defense, just like we did for Casey Anthony. I don't understand why clients who are indigent get these high priced defense attorneys. Shouldn't they be represented by a public defender?

Zimmerman's past arrest and domestic abuse charge just don't paint a picture of a guy who is laid back and willing to turn the other cheek.

Martin's three suspensions from school, the last one resulting in him being in that gated cummunity at that time, the bag of woman's jewelry and a burglary tool found in his backpack by a school security guard and his facebook record including him bragging about bashing a school bus driver are quite telling about his character or the lack thereof. Hopefully the facts of what actually happened will come out during trial and we will find out what really happened rather than continue to speculate ad nauseum.

I may be off base but perhaps his lawyer took this on for the exposure?

So are you saying Martin was no good and didn't deserve to live? George Zimmerman had no knowledge of Trayvon Martin when he killed him.

NBC News is reporting that Zimmerman is having a hard time raising the bond and won't be released until possibly the middle of next week. They also reported that the trial is probably a year away. That's quite a long time to remain in hiding.

Why else would one bring up Trayvon Martin's past?

I am saying that based upon Martin's behavioral history he may very well have initiated the physical confrontation with Zimmerman which ended with Martin on top, bashing Zimmerman's head on the pavement relentlessly, Zimmerman calling for help and when no timely assistance appeared, Zimmerman shooting Martin in order to avoid grievous physical injury or even death.

NBC News reporting...the same NBC News that deliberately mislead the public by deleting the operator's question to Zimmerman about Martin's race? I certainly believe little of their "reporting".

Who Knows?

It's a case of a wannabe cop/hero sticking his nose into the wrong place one too many times...He was called out, got into a fight and was getting his ass kicked..He pulled a gun and did the kid in..Laws broken? Who knows..

Martin had been suspended from school after some marijuana residue was found on him. He was staying with his aunt in Sanford in that gated community at his father's request.

In 2005, Zimmerman was arrested and charged with "resisting officer with violence" and "battery of law enforcement officer." Both these felonies are considered third-degree. The charges were reduced to "resisting officer without violence" and then the only remaining charge was also completely waived off when he entered an alcohol education program.
In the same year (2005), Zimmerman's ex-fiance, Veronica Zuazo, filed a civil motion for a restraining order, alleging domestic violence. In retaliation, Zimmerman filed for a retraining order against Zuazo and both these claims were resolved with both restraining orders granted.

So, you see neither was perfect. And yet, Trayvon Martin is dead and George Zimmerman has a ruined life. Both tragic events were avoidable.

So in Virginia, if you're getting your head slammed into the sidewalk by an otherwise unarmed assailant, you could not defend yourself with a weapon?

Isn't the concrete sidewalk technically a weapon in a case like this?
